yeah i think it was just what he desired, loving parents and si won.
I thought it was him realizing that he didn't have to crave his parents' time anymore (like he did at the beginning of the series). That's why he was able to walk away and reconnect with Shi Won.

I honestly thought Da Woon had gotten hit by a car and died. And then the next morning, Shi Won's family was telling him to be cautious of cars. I let out a giant sigh of relief when I saw Da Woon in the background.
