I go based off facts and the facts are that people on this site do rate some dramas highly just because an actor they like is in it I've seen it myself people making new fresh accs to inflate the rating of the drama or review bomb it. Metrics to a good show is based on your own criteria. Valuing things like well written characters with depth and not one dimensional character archetypes/cliches. A coherent plot that doesn't have any contrivances or conveniences. Good cinematography and an ending that ties up the plot + subplots. That's just the surface as well there's more that I can go in depth in but I'd rather not write an essay for a pea brained individual like you since you think good ratings = good show.

Yea I understand this was my problem with it as well. It's basically like the drama was forcing the viewer to cry and feel sad every single episode instead of letting the emotion flow organically.

Except I never said me liking a show doesn't mean it isn't good. Something being liked by a bunch of people does not mean that show is good. The top reviews for lovely runner for example are all pretty low and they have VALID critiques. You're a sheep who thinks because something has high ratings means its good when this is not the case.

You're overrating her talent. Her acting in moon lovers was ok at best but also the directing/editing was kinda bad. Lee joon gi acted circles around everyone in that drama.

Well moon lovers was also pretty shit tbh but yea it's really her recent scripts that have been pretty good. I think her best (and I imagine this is the general consensus as well) have been WLGYT and My Mister.

The fact that you think high ratings means a show is good proves how brainless you are. Especially on MDL of all sites where you have so much garbage in the 8.9+ range where people rate dogshit like lovely runner a 9+ bc their favorite actor was in it. So please miss me with that logic you idiot. I can already tell how many people will rate this drama highly bc of the actors in this comment section.

It's a matter of common sense. I have been right many times in predicting garbage shows and considering the state of kdramas this one will be ass but will still be rated highly bc of the popular cast of actors.

I totally understand that. I myself enjoy something cliche and tropey every now and then but I really did not like QOT and it’s something I watched while it was airing bc I was expecting so much more.

I haven’t logged all the dramas I’ve watched yet since I mostly tend to comment here more than anything but yea glad to know we share some similar takes.

Except QOT is dogshit filled w bad cliches, plot conveniences and one of the worst antagonists ever in media. Kim jiwon killed her performance but that was it. The only reason it was rated so highly is because there’s a large amount of kim soo pedo fans who inflate the ratings of his dramas.

I don’t stan or follow any big celebrities like that. I was just super confused because I could not find ANY information on this woman lee juyeon. I don’t think popularity is a good metric to measure someone’s acting quality by any means but if you have any specific recommendations of lee juyeon then I would check it out. I get there’s lesser known actors and actresses in the industry but I just couldn’t find anything on this girl.

Oh I didn’t see it that way. I did see it as a very poor portrayal of depression however. The writers don’t actually go in depth and it’s like someone took a surface level meaning of the word depression and decided to base the entire character around that but in your perspective I can see how it’s “romanticizing” it. Yes I agree with the last part as well love can be a huge motivation to get you out of that slump but this drama doesn’t really cover it as I hoped it would.

Actually great taste here. I haven’t watched some of these but I have checked out most of them and they’re pretty good. I do think when the camellia blooms is one of the most overrated dramas on this site but I can see the appeal for it.

My point stands. It’s a drama with big names for mass appeal. There will be nothing of substance here.

Oh nothing bad really happened with the series itself like I said it’s fine. I just think the character interactions are not that good. Like they come off as very robotic and awkward. Idk if it’s the acting or the script but it’s probably the script itself.

It’s so dumb. I cringe everytime I see the ai character.
