Vincenzo is a recent drama. How can we define it with this role? You don't know anything other than vincenzo?…
Sorry for the confusion lol. And thank you! đŸ™đŸœđŸ„ș It's important that everyone here understands this one point clearly. Actors are NOT their characters, and they can't be expected to remain in the same role forever. Even if they give a lifetime of good performances, they need to be able to explore different genres and roles to stay versatile and avoid being typecast. Taecyeon has already done a lot of dark shows, but those shows are just one aspect of his career, and he has also done a lot of other work that showcases his versatility as an actor. It's always good to have a mix of different genres and styles to keep things fresh and interesting.

they did the same thing with Ji Chang Wook when he stopped playing the bad boy these people are never satisfied.
I completely agree that Taecyeon gave an outstanding performance as Jang Jun-woo. However, we shouldn't expect him to be typecasted into similar roles repeatedly. We should appreciate his love and enjoyment of doing comedy. This role was perfect for him, and you could see that he had a lot of fun on the set. Comedy is an art that requires a lot of skill and practice. In my opinion, it's one of the most challenging genres to master. The line between comedy and tragedy is often very thin. And this show is the perfect example. It's fascinating how the same situation can evoke such different emotions. For example, when Woo saw his own reflection in Inhae's eyes, it was a bittersweet moment that was both humorous and sad/painful. This show tells you that comedy and tragedy are closely intertwined. And it takes a lot of talent to walk that line successfully. It's not just about delivering jokes; it's about timing, delivery, and understanding your audience. And I just love how Taecyeon is able to read the room, adapt to changing circumstances, and think on his feet. All of these skills take time and effort to develop. You could see that both Taecyeon and Woo are unserious. He needed this role. And in the midst of all the depressing dramas out there, we needed something light-hearted and enjoyable.

I'm sorry, but I'm having trouble understanding your comment. Are you saying that you agree with me that Taec’s other roles should not be defined by a single character, such as Vincenzo?

Wow! You said everything that needed to be said perfectly! I agree 100%! You should be heard by everyone that…
Thank you đŸ„č I think it's important to evaluate actors based on their individual performances rather than comparing them to others. Comparisons can introduce bias and lead to skewed reviews, which ultimately does a disservice to the actors and their work. I had no intention of comparing this show to KTL, but people in the comments kept doing it, even to shows in completely different genres. Rather than getting bogged down in comparisons, let's focus on what makes this show unique. We can talk about the show's strengths or weaknesses, such as its CGI, cinematography, action scenes, slapstick humor, we could talk about how the show portrays romance or explore the various theories that have emerged from it, and more. Rather than trying to be like another show, this show should be celebrated for its own unique identity. That is how you provide more constructive and insightful critiques. So let’s stop saying this show ain’t KTL. Yes it’s NOT. It doesn’t have to be. KTL is “x”, why even be another “x”, why not be the new “y?”

Another lengthy post, so please bear with me. And feel free to let me know if you disagree: I believe that it's time for us to stop limiting our perception of Ok Taecyeon solely to his character in Vincenzo. While I certainly acknowledge that his performance in the show was exceptional, it's important to recognize that he has since taken on other roles. I've observed that many people continue to compare his new characters to that “one” and claim that it was superior. While everyone is entitled to their opinion, I think it's time to move beyond this overused comparison. And to be frank, Vincenzo wasn't as great as people made it out to be. The show's quality declined towards the end. In contrast, this one feels like a breath of fresh air and is almost therapeutic. I've always believed that constructive criticism is essential. For instance, someone pointed out that the CGI in the show is subpar, and they could see the rope when the characters were flying. Now THAT is a valid critique that merits discussion. I'm even okay with people calling it cringey and boring, though I don't necessarily agree. I respect their opinion, but it's time to move on from this topic. Moreover, comparing this show to others is ironic because the shows you're comparing it to are everything you're accusing this show of being: bland and predictable. In my opinion, this is one of Taec's best shows, if not THE best. His facial expressions are noteworthy, particularly when he's portraying confusion in the new world. He looks so adorable, like a younger version of Mr. Bean. Additionally, his chemistry with the female lead is fantastic. Their interactions are electric, and it's clear that they have a deep connection. Every time they share the screen, the tension is palpable, and the I can't help but be drawn into their story. It's rare to see such a natural and effortless connection between two characters on screen, and it's a testament to the talent of the actors and the writers. I must say, Taecyeon has a talent for creating great chemistry, and he could probably have chemistry with anyone he shares the screen with. Even with a brick wall.

I thought the scene where Inhae protected the student who had a nosebleed from Wohyeol was hilarious. Wohyeol looked so unimpressed. 😭

I love your points, I think people are just trying to find every reason they can to hate on this drama, they forget…
Thank you for responding. ❀ I agree with your take on FL. She is a relatable character and I do understand why some people might find her off-putting. There are a lot of viewers who prefer characters who are always affectionate and kind, and have always nice things to say. Which isn't always realistic. FL provides a more authentic portrayal of life, which some people may find challenging. I also appreciate your perspective on ML, but I would still respectfully disagree. As a vampire, we can't hold him to human standards. I don’t find him annoying at all. I believe that ML's overspending of FL's credit card was an innocent mistake made without malicious intent. But it does make him a freeloader. And it’s not fair to the woman whose credit card was taken without permission. However, I love how he's working to pay her back and make amends for his mistake (the bar just fell through the floor lol) And let’s be honest, the mansion originally belonged to ML. It’s also true that the FL inherited it. However, it's not reasonable to hold FL accountable for ML's 100-year hibernation. In my opinion, both parties have legitimate perspectives. And just to clarify, that kiss was more akin to a vampire attack. While this was without her consent, it's important to note that sucking blood from the neck is also non-consensual. Both actions are equally wrong, but he IS a vampire, and their nature is to drink blood. What did we expect? I recall stating that vampires are fictional, so there are no definitive rules on how to portray their behavior. Nevertheless, there's one aspect that remains constant in vampire stories - their innate desire to consume blood. A writer CANNOT change that. Compared to other vampires, this ML has actually shown a significant amount of restraint. I would even go as far as to say he's our woke vampire haha. Although his actions towards her were still unacceptable, and I stand by her in this situation. That being said, it's not fair to categorize him with those human men that blur the line between romance and abuse. It's like questioning why dragons breathe fire. He's a vampire, and biting is what they do. Personally, I find this couple adorable rather than tacky. I've been really impressed with the show so far, especially when it comes to the acting. I mean Taecyeon is already a well-known actor, and he's doing an amazing job here. However, it's Jian who has really stood out to me. I think she has a lot of potential and could go far in her career.

I believe everyone has the right to express their opinions and thoughts about the show, even if they are negative. I welcome constructive criticism and healthy debates. And I would love to have one here. So anyone disappointed with this show already, please engage me? I understand that some people may find the FL’s tone of voice to be too much, but I personally don't see it as an issue. I mean I don't think it would’ve been appropriate for her to high-five someone who exceeded her credit card limit lol. In reality, if we were in her position, we would likely be jailed, but she showed mercy imo. Another point of contention is that the show seems to place an excessive emphasis on ML's unemployment, which some viewers may find boring. However, I personally found the job search process to be both engaging and informative, particularly the segment that touched on plastic waste management. I also recall someone asking why the characters aren't considering selling antiques, but wasn’t that addressed already? The ML has explicitly stated that he won't permit the sale of the house or its contents, including the antiques. In response, the FL gave him a deadline by which he must pay her? Lastly, some viewers have criticized the show for being predictable. However, I don't see that as a flaw. Many successful shows have predictable plotlines, and viewers still enjoy them. That's what I appreciate about K-dramas. They don't rely on shock value to keep viewers engaged (like they do in British/American shows) For example, in Squid Game, the identity of the mastermind was predictable, but the show was still gripping. And it is now one of the most watched shows. Same is the case with Little Women. Being predictable isn't inherently bad. Even if the FL is revealed to be a reincarnation, I'm still interested in seeing how the plot develops. I've observed that many of the currently popular shows are slow-moving, repetitive, or business proposal rebranding. And tbh I have no issue with those shows. However, it's peculiar that some genuinely slow-paced shows are currently trending, while people are having trouble embracing this off-beat one with only a 3% rating? That it’s predictable? I find it to be a refreshing change of pace, actually. I came across an interesting theory that suggests his first love might actually be the villain. It's a compelling idea that a few people have shared. However, if it turns out to be true, someone will undoubtedly label it as predictable as well haha.

I must say, Taecyeon has the quintessential vampire look, with perfectly proportioned facial features and cute, large ears. But there is no such thing as a perfect vampire look lol. They don't exist in real life, so there's really no "right" or "wrong" way to look like one. That reporter’s comment that went viral.. it was hurtful (that Taec ain’t pale) This is not only colorist, but also perpetuates harmful beauty standards that can be damaging to people's self-esteem. I’m glad Taec laughed it off because criticizing an actor for not fitting a certain stereotype is unfair and he feels he should ignore it . Like I said, the concept of vampires is purely fictional, so writers have creative license to portray them in any way they see fit. However, Taec does have a striking appearance for a vamp role. But even if he didn’t, it wouldn’t matter. Because despite having watched a lot of vampire shows, I don’t/shouldn’t have any preconceived notion about what a vampire "should" look like. Ultimately, what matters most is how the actor brings the character to life on screen. And Taecyeon is embodying that flawlessly. Touchwood!

Goshhhhh this storyline is so refreshingly unique and entertaining. It's not often that any drama manages to balance humor and heart in such a perfect way, but this one did just that (and with just 2 episodes) I absolutely loved the scene where Taecyeon’s character tries to impress the female lead by showing off his vampire powers lol! I thought it was so clever how the scene managed to be both comedic and poignant (him seeing his reflection in her eyes) at the same time, highlighting the character's struggles with his identity and his desire to be human. I think it’s time we start recognizing Taecyeon as a truly gifted actor. His ability to convey such a range of emotions with such ease - from the comedic moments to the more dramatic ones, he nailed every scene. It's clear that he put his all into this role, and I hope it pays off in a big way (personally I don’t believe in ratings system for any kind of entertainment but sadly this is only how good directors will become familiar with his work if they aren’t already) Eagerly waiting for next episode. And I really REALLYYY hope that the writers and producers can maintain the same level of quality and attention to detail that made the first two episodes so great. It can be disappointing when a show starts off strong and then falls apart later on, as we saw with Vincenzo. I'm crossing my fingers that this show will be different and that it will continue to exceed my expectations!
