thoughts on 1st ep of boc's very own glee project:
*it wasnt bad as i expected so i will keep on watching for now as i am curious about how the cards will be dealt when people start voting. i went on twitter to get a general fan consensus but the tag was ONLY and only filled with people talking about mile lmao his stans scare me a lil....
*i like mile but it would be fun if every ep had a different boc actor as the mc
*when all contestants were like "omg this challenge is hard, i cant lie for shit" it made me laugh bc this is literally an ACTING challenge ðŸ˜dont say you cant act in the acting competition. thai bls will never beat the actors cant act allegations
*if im not mistaken we never see pond's face fully, its always from behind/side but seems like he is gonna play a big part, leading the discussions etc. i wonder whats the point of hiding his face? it really bugged me
*first hidden story being ANOTHER homophobic post from past like..... we need to learn about digital footprints in school. kindergarten even.
*ofc boc is brave for putting that shit in first ep but i felt like they tried to portray a certain image with discussions (about bullying, self reflection, masculinity etc) it brought on. i think the only thing it lacked was the discussion on what these contestants (esp the ones w homophobic past lol) feel about acting in a bl, why do they want to act in one and just about the genre in general. and i dont want pr perfect answers too, i want truth. like being called gay affected max this much but now he is competing to get a bl part, what does that mean for him aside from sweet cash?

From my understanding, they want to show how people are flawed and their (hopefully) growth.
yeah i get it, on press day pond was also talking about how this show was about personality, not skills (which is... interesting). i just found the juxtaposition of like "i am staking my whole future on this show! also here's all my toys" really funny lol. i still have an open mind for all contestants, EXCEPT the canceled one lolll he can go on his inner healing journey on his own, we have enough bl actors with questionable digital footprints
uhmmm does anyone else feel gagged watching those introductory vids of the boys LMAOOO tea that they spilled for no fucking reason?? like i get sharing your dirty laundry is a reality show custom but i dont see the point in some of the things these boys shared w us. like WHY did that boy tell us he cheated on his bf like you couldve kept that shit to yourself?? then he proceeds to show us his nintendo and 2 giant BB GUNS like its nothing loooooooooool. one is throwing his USA plans just for this, one of them even got canceled before he got famous. anyways i guess its a tactic that works bc they got me, i might have to check out the show to see what kinda mess will go down

i think it went on this long bc it wasnt an obstacle for both of them until last ep but more so for tinn. i think he was respecting the no dating rule and trying to work around it bc he knows how dedicated gun is to his club and focusing on his music & hot wave, so he didnt think "oh he would def choose me over that rule". now that gun knows tinn is into him & reciprocates the feeling, that plotline is going to get solved too bc now it concerns gun too and he does seem to choose love over rules based on the preview, with going on secret dates and all
normally i get worried when a couple confesses early in a series because you just know they are going to throw ridiculous curveballs to fill the eps but i trust msp completely that the rest of the season will be as entertaining as it has been. never a dull moment in these eps. each of them had their own side plot going on but still felt really cohesive. i believe its bc how the script allows tinn and gun's relationship grow & change in a natural way over the course of these eps.
gun and tinn's relationship is progressing so realistically and beautifully. actors' talent and palpable chemistry and show's delightful writing are big factors in it. this is a bl where you have no questions about why on earth these guys are attracted to each other because its been blossoming in front of us. they enjoy spending time & talking to each other, fit into each others lives perfectly and it was really sweet to see how the trust between them grew and how they can be vulnerable in front of each other. ahhh just like tentativeness and tenderness in the way they approach each other????????????????? i love seeing relationships that make sense on my screen lol
my most anticipated one from gmmtv 23. kinda gave me marco berger feels. normally i hate soap opera-like, melodramatic mess but i LOVE this kind of fast paced queer mess <3 i knew it was p'jojo from the start, he is a director who has his own vision & style, perfect for this story
on the poster that shows only 5 eps has the title "New Couple" above it and only Seng & Billy, meaning that story takes up 5 eps, not the whole series. If that was the case, the whole episodes would have to be feature length and even then it would be like burning through the plot. Also this is giant project for the cast and Cheewin, they would want to milk this show more than 5 weeks lol They are probably going to announce schedules separately for each story as that's how theyve been promoting it all along, w the 4 different official trailers etc

yesss i already got how each story is slightly different and tackles a different issue that are all very real and important to the Thai BL industry (excess of fan service, abuse the actor go through, managers misusing their power and control etccc) but i just feel like making all these characters having secret relationships behind the camera is muddying the waters by making you ask, "oh, is that aspect real too?". like all the other issues are real and unfortunately common but the cps being real? i have a feeling its not that common. On the contrary, these actors' friendships w each other and sometimes relationships w their other partners/friends get strained bc of delusional fans stalking, theorizing and even harassing, just like you said. Idk showing that would be cool in one of those stories too, the cp not being in a relationship but like i said i understand this is marketed as a BL and many people would be like "im out if no boys are kissing" lool. OR maybe they will go that route and i will eat my words, who knows? either way i am also looking forward to watch!!!
i know the main slayers toru and first's trailer hasnt come out yet but i feel like i get what their story is going to be about so here's some thoughts about the show::
requirement of fan service and pressure that comes from how they should look in the eyes of the fans seem to be prominent themes in all 4 stories. here's the thing: isnt one of the worst sides to the fan service is the delusional fans who believes that the couples are real? obviously we as the audience definitely dont know the half of it about what goes on behind the scenes BUTTT i think its really easy to see which of these cps are actual friends when the job is over and which ones are only clocking in like an office job, doing their service and going home on their own. in my opinion, even though most of them are close friends,NONE of the cps that are out there are actual couples, ESPECIALLY the ones who try their hardest to make it look like they are one lmao👀 so, in these stories it seems like all these actors/idols find themselves falling for their partner at one point and idk how that is helpful to what they are trying to tell or "expose" about the industry. obviously they have to do that bc it is in the genre of BL but i am wondering if making them all couples is undermining the message?? not to say some of these actors even indulge in fan service while promoting the show loll im not accusing the actors btw, get your checks babes!!! just the idea of playing by the industry's rules which they are trying to criticize. like i would like to see them going in a boc/kinnporsche direction w minimal fs/more intellectual discussion about the show. idk maybe im wrong or nitpicking but i feel like delulu fans might take it the wrong way and add fire to the flames. i definitely would want to be proven wrong tho!!! regardless of anything i love that it is an ambitious project and is stacked w a promising cast who seems to love this project and put so much effort into it, so i am excited for it
also i was least excited for Y Idol bc didnt know the actors and plot seemed underwhelming in teasers but I looooved their trailer and excited to get to know Milk & Mark. I cant believe Im excited to watch a series where they are going to sing a lot loll oh one more thing i cant w them giving first a WIFE and also making him a bitch in Y Idol story lmaoooo he seems to be such a sweet, polite, quiet dude during interviews but ig that's what you get for being so gorgeous, gotta serve cunt....
