I just don't get the ending. Are they dead or are they alive? The Drama was good anyway, but a bit too cliché.…
some fans consider them dead...because of the writer's history in dramas...but I like to think they are alive...and the truth is this is the best thing Rain have ever done and both the writing and acting were amazing

I used to watch anime too but I stopped after watching those dramas...
but if your teenager loves cute staff then something like You're beautiful, Sungkyunkwan scandal, Rooftop prince, My girlfriend is a gumiho or Dream High will be enough for her...
those are based on my experiences with my friends...I got many of them addicted...some by melodramas "let my add the princess' man to Sad Love Story & Sorry I Love You" and some by Rom/Com dramas...
hope I helped you ^^

It was Sad Love Story...the children actors (Yoo Seung Ho & Kim so Eun)in the beginning made me fall in love with the drama...
http://mydramalist.com/korean-drama/1184/sad-love-song
It was something I've never seen before...so pure and sad and all about true love,If your teenager is romantic then she will definitely love that show :)
Sorry Love story was also amazing,it used to air at 3 pm...the same time I finish my school so I used to run the whole way from school to home Just to watch it "I was always the 1st to leave school" :D

I specially liked the struggle between Moo Hyuk and his mother...and also how love can change you,I still cry when I think about that drama even though it was 8 years ago...I remembered that I cried every single ep,so it's a bit too much for a teenager but it's gonna make her addicted to dramas for sure

great country...good for you I really wish to visit it some day :)
Seo Eun Gi:
she has also been a troubled girl in a whole different way...
her mother cheated on her father and her father used to throw away her dolls, he also taught her to trust no one and he was responsible for her mother's death and he married a young girl "that could be her older sister" she loved someone sacrificed for him but he ended up forming a family with someone else...she was always cold and not caring and always worked her best trying to prove herself to her father...
one day she meets Ma Roo who cares for her and makes her feel like a girl again so she falls in love for him, she forgives him for his past and wishes to have a family with him...
she also confesses her love for him "for the first time" and have her first kiss with him, she also challenges her father for him but when she finds out that he tricked her and that she lost her chance to see her father for the last time because of hem she seeks revenge.
I'm already a Moon Chae Won fan and I think she was good in this drama but it wasn't her best and she didn't really convince me :S.
There where also some other nice characters that I really loved Like Jae Gil and Cho Ko who I sometimes liked them even more than the lead characters as they where always funny and cute ^^
That drama deserves ten and I consider it a must watch...it's not so sad and I know that you'll enjoy it :)
She is supposed to be the "evil witch" but I didn't really hate her...the truth is I understood her so well...her mother sold her body for food and she didn't know her father and her brother was a criminal who have always beaten her...
simply she was a troubled kid and the only one who have ever cared for her was Ma Roo and he wasn't there for her anymore and she didn't wanna go back to that disgusting place she used to live in...she wanted to be powerful and rich, she wanted to to make sure that no one would ever look down at her anymore...
she threw herself into the arms of a sick old - but rich - married man and she became the mother of his child...
later she loses every thing and wishes If she could have Ma Roo back and live there in his old house poor and happy but it was too late.
I really used to hate Park Si Yeon but she was perfect in that role I ended loving her character "even more than Eun Gi" I actually cried for her more than any other character in this drama (Y).
Kang Ma Roo:
I was in love with that character it seemed a bit "stupid" for me it resembled Love more than revenge...and after few eps I started understanding it more...he was in love with Jea Hee and he understood her more than any one else he knew what she passed through during her childhood.Ma Roo always protected Jae Hee since they were children he believed she was the Love of his life...every dream he from his childhood included her and he couldn't make anyone else take her place in his heart Until he met Eun Gi even though it was supposed to be for revenge.it really wasn't like that because all what Ma Roo really wanted was to have Jae Hee back.the story goes on and some bad events happen and that makes Ma Roo carries some feelings - out of guilt - for Eun Gi that sooner turns into Love that he will be ready to give his life for her and prays that he dies and then in another new life they would fall in Love again like normal people.
one last thing to mention is that Song Joong Ki proved that he is a brilliant actor and not just a handsome face by playing that complicated character that good.
These are simply my thoughts about the main characters and the drama overall...
I LOVED IT...sincerely I loved every minute of it...the the Idea of revenge in itself isn't something new but still the plot was tight and I felt hocked to the story...
I was already a fan for writer Lee's dramas "Sang Doo let's go to school, Sorry I love you...
So I prepared myself for something full of emotions that will make me shed tears and I wasn't disappointed...
the truth is that it was a lot more better than what I expected it to be ^^...
