DON"T watch it now...its way too hard to wait for a week

So I rewatched the show again, and I noticed something and wanted to share it with you...I noticed that the other guys assumed Junh Hwan's confession was a joke but I'm pretty sure (90%) thaat Deok-sun knew it was real...cuz there were details in his confession only him and her knew about (like the worrying about her getting home safe late at night. there was that moment they had when he handed her the umbrella, no one else was there for that) so since she knew it was real and chose not to respond to him, i think its safe to assume she didn't like him anymore. Plus they also show moments of her getting excited everytime the door opens and then getting dissapointed when its not Taek, they do it before and after the confession and even Jung Hwan notices, so I wanna say she really did like Taek more....still I would've loved a more obvious moment, this was way too subtle lol

I thought the same thing for the first couple episodes but they become less dramatic and theres less unnecessary yelling, I would say around ep. 4-6

You know on paper, Start-up and HP are the same genre and share similarities but they offer different mian attractions...imo Start-up has more "things" happening, like dramatic moments and a love triangle and this big secret on the verge of being revealed, and theres a bad guy, whereas HP is much much more lowkey so it can come off as boring if you're not watching it because you enjoy simply see really good friends interact with eachother, or finding it pleasing to see good and funny Senior-junior realtionships in a workplace, theres no villain and barely any dramatic moments. So this might be why you like Start-up but not this, but idk just theorizing:)

Judging from your profile, you just don't seem to be the kind of person who likes slice of life dramas, and what i've seen to be a problem with slice of life dramas is that if you don't like that genre, your judgment of the drama is almost always gonna be "its boring" cuz its not supposed to be exciting, so I get why you have such a negative opinion

Yayy I'm glad you agree, and what you said about it being bigger than the romance is completely true, its funny, for 1994 and 1997 they make a big distinction, and I think maybe the makers went for silent unrequited love because of the reason you said...the story's bigger than romance. To Jungwhan friendship is the priority...but OMG i have watched that fake confession scene so many times, just staring at FL's face to tell if shes happy or sad but damn it you really can't tell!

I agree with you but it's sad cuz j actually like the actress, it's just that I really hate the character..was super pissed at her after season 1

I love how flawed every character was, yet I didn't feel negatively towards them. I could really relate to Park Wan's frustration over her mom never apologizing for anything lol and rather than doing a heartfelt..yet cliche scene of mother-daughter reconciliation of apologies and i love you's, they maintained the core of their relationship and reality that those big dramatic moments don't usually happen, most things are left unsaid.

YOu're right but just thinking in perspective of lovey-dovey stuff, the hero always wants to protect his love the most right, so i get going to utie her immediately but ignoring Han Seo was just dumb, and he didn't seem sad enough about his death you know? Like I'm not asking for him to start bawling his eyes out but atleast some silent tears would've been nice

I made the mistake of watching 1988 first so I got through 1997...it was okay, better than 1994...i really couldn't get through 1994

Ikrr they seem really cute together but I swear you can tell with these first 2 epsiodes the people that are gonna die or atleast have some sad ending lol

no i mean from episode 25 to epsiode 28 theres a love triangle, it ends at episode 28
