XD how are they English names? Just because when you sound it out they sound like English names means nothing,…
Haha no problem :") I also found it strange, thats why i asked. Another person who replied to me speculated that it might involve a time slip, so i just left it at that thinking that this might be a possible explanation But seeing how they have changed the names now, it must not be true.

Because his name was literally listed as Ra Yi Eon/ Ryan and Kim Hye Yoon's character as Kim Jo Yi/Joy, i see they have changed it now but it was like that before.
Hello! Koreans are worried about the events depicted in the drama. More specifically as you probably know in 1987,…
I clarified it at the end actually. I tried to be nice and say evreything i knew. I explained it as well as i could, of course im not an expert thats why i send this person some extra links so they can check for themselves.
I know I am the late one but still can anyone explain to me what is happening?
Hello! Koreans are worried about the events depicted in the drama. More specifically as you probably know in 1987, Korea was under military rule. During those years many innocent people were framed as NK spies and were killed wrongfully. Here, JHI's character is (probably) an actual NK spy, who pretented to be an democracy activist, Another thing is Jisoo's character name (Young Cho) is taken from an actual person, who was an activist during that time and whose memoirs are published. Young Cho isnt a very common came so there might be a misunderstanding, i think they might change the name tho. Another thing is the depiction of NIS agents. I tried to explained it as well as i could since english is not my first lauguage, but some things are missing. If you want to dive deeper into the matter i can provide you with a few links that explain things better.
Since this is a historical drama why do both of the main characters have english names (Joy and Ryan)? Is this set during the later years of Joseon? Genuinely asking because i was not much of a sageuk person before, im only starting to enjoy them now.
Youth of May doesnt have a NK spy as a main character tho. Completely different case.
Yes it is a part of the same historic events but people are mad at Snowdrop for romanticizing NK spy, when innocent people where killed and framed as spies. Im not Korean, this is what i read on several threads in the comment section here but because my country has also been through a dictatorship i can understand why people are mad. Its also the romanticizing of NIS agents that angers knetizens. Anyways i havent watched it so i cant judge just yet, i like the actors and hope the best for them.
The amount of people saying "they should continue" and "just forgive them" is disgusting and shows you care nothing…
I dont watch this drama or ever planned to watch it because it isnt really my style. May i ask what happened ? As an outsider who know knothing, i found it weird how they just cancelled the whole drama and figured out something pretty big must have happened.
But seeing how they have changed the names now, it must not be true.
