I'm done with the kdrama Perfume, I've never cried to a romcom before, but his love was so pure, I just wanted to hug him! I knew that Shin Sung Rok was a great actor before I watched this one as I've seen him play in kmovies and other kdramas before, but this one really showed what a great actor he is! I've never in my life seen an actor show his emotions like it looked so real, this was really another level of acting.
If you think this kdrama is just like another "bigger female lead who is only beautiful when she's slim aka has the ideal body, and only will get attention from the men because of that", then I can tell you that you're so wrong about it. A great thing about this kdrama is that you'll see how the main leads try to grow and become confident in their skin, that they work on self-love and self-acceptance, that your appearance isn't everything.
This kdrama is such a hidden gem, which kinda makes me sad because it never got that much of attention. Wondering if you should watch it or not? Watch it, do it right now! I'll always remember this romcom, it gave me a lot of laughs and sadness because some stuff really hit home. Body shaming/Fat jokes? Big no-no for me, but don't be too harsh and think like I did at first ("just another kdrama about making fun of bigger people... so typical Korea"), they'll show a different point of it later, the message of it is really important. It'll be hard for me to find another romcom that I'll like as I'm very picky about that genre, I haven't liked a romcom for years - and even those few romcoms I've liked so far, none of them have showed this kind of wonderful message!
Coz in the cast. I didnt see a ballerina, a musician, an English tutor iun the movie?
They've added scenes in the drama version that you couldn't see in the movie version, but I'm not sure how much. There's a few characters in the drama version that aren't in the movie version (as I've seen in the trailers), so maybe it's them? Seems to be more stories in the drama version.
No problem! Nope, the episodes are short, so that's why I've added that kdrama here as it goes under my "rules"…
Yes, it's because I prefer to watch kdramas that have shorter duration on each ep than the "normal" kdramas, as I've often no time or patience to watch kdramas where each ep is like 45min to over 1h long.
I've created a lot of custom lists to kake it easier for me to find things to watch depending on the mood. I just let them be open for everyone to see so others can get some suggestions too.
I know that we all have different definitions of what's short kdrama, what's "normal" kdrama, what's long kdrama etc ^^'
Thanks for this list! Maybe remove Come and Hug Me? Looks like it's the usual length.
