Even if I was once upon a time a big fan of Xianxia and thought it was the best genre if well done, I started getting tired of the same formula, However Back From The Brink ( and the starry love ) proved to me that it was possible for the genre to evolve in many ways . I'll be forever grateful to this one of a kind drama, the best one for me this year for now. Loved, loved, loved back from the brink and I'm so happy that I found friends in here to discuss together our love for this drama ♥
Also loved that the ending is coherent with the whole drama vibe. We had a beautiful message and funny moments I died at BXS becoming a couple counselor and being the one who wrote Hu Xin to advertise his services 😂 and like they wrote ending at the end but gave us a kiss afterward like what we see in cinemas’ movies ( so yeah rest assured it can’t be a dream because the ending is literally an after ending

No it’s her for sure tho hahahaha I think they didn’t leave place to doubt unlike LBFAD where I wasn’t sure at the end but here if it was a dream they would have showed it, the even show us an after ending with them kissing hahahaha so it was really not a dream

She told him that she would be in every person, I guess it has something to do with her spirit who was shattered in many people ( the little light dot on people forehead) but yes I also wished they explained this part more but overall I thought it was very beautiful
My only complain is that they didn’t explain how YH was reborn but I guess it’s because she left a little bit of her spirit and her light into everyone and TY kind of recollected by doing good to everyone ? At least this is my interpretation of it. I thought the ending was well rounded even without kids it was satisfying and beautiful. Of course I would have loved even more to see their kids but I don’t feel it was unsatisfactory on the contrary
And all the villagers sharing on them for that kiss, that river being crowded. They did it !!! They made of their world a place with no worries and spirits and Taoists can be equal 😭 my loves ❤️
Ep 40 review : ok I found this episode incredibly poetic and beautiful. I don’t even know where to begin but from the moments all the secondary characters had a little bit of Tianyao fire representing hope and that every single life and person is important and is a ray of hope I started getting goosebumps. And Yan Hui death I teared up, everyone end up frozen and only her and TY remains, she fought to save his life and it ended up saving the world she loved so much : a free world 😭

I did not yet, didn’t want to spoil myself and to compare it to the drama. But it’s an amazing idea now that the drama has ended I’ll have to read the book. I really can’t watch anything else for now too …

Hahahahaha tbh he kind of got his karma in the end. He became a spirit slayer for the sake of two pretty eyes then forgot everything and fell in love with a spirit. Everything SY did his past self would have approved. And in the end of all he gets killed because of his ways with women 🤷♀️ 😂
