Hey Peach! I’ve only just found your review today and it couldn’t have been more eloquently put. I love your descriptions of the main characters and the very high stakes of this story. You were able to succinctly explain the frustrations most of us have with certain aspects of the drama in a way that’s very levelheaded. I too see some flaws both in writing and acting that unfortunately have tainted my viewing experience. At the end of the day, it’s hats off to the phenomenal performances of Yang Zi, Tan Jianci and Zhang Wanyi for making this one of the best dramas of 2023.
