Watched this because I needed to get over my wbl obssession and I can say that this show is worth it even though it has "censorship." I've never watched dramas that are set during the ancient times because i'm not into but I think this show changed my mind. Just finished all the episodes today too and for those who are reluctant, I hope you guys give this drama a chance because it's so good.
I can't believe they cut out that scene where Shu yi was sitting on Shi de's lap and was explaining who's Ashley. In this scene, Shu yi also said a very important line which was how he likes Shi de because before he thought he had everything but after meeting Shi de he realized that he lacked love and Shide was able to fulfill that. Deyi couple really has my heart even though the plot now is so flawed. Yes!!! I'd love to see that since Yu can also do wushu based on a show they appeared on. Sam also jokingly said he'd want a series where he's the patient and Yu's a nurse lmao but I think this kind of plot would actually be good too.
Unpopular opinion: at this point, i don't want a season 3 because the writing might get worse and they might make unneccessary problems again for deyi. What I really want is in a new series with Samyu again because the chemistry that they have is amazing. Their chemistry offscreen is great too and I really hope they remain close even when the show ends.

In that scene, Shi De said that he would've allowed this 5 years ago but this time him and Shu yi will fight Shu yi's father together. hello thanks for replying :> I totally forgot about the Troy Cornelius part, I also saw that the medicines stated can also be used to relieve pain (i'm not really sure with this one though because i'm not a medical student hnng) So another theory could be that his step-father got sick and he had to take care of him out of moral obligation and he also had to handle company stuff as well. Also, it was stated in season's first episode that it was Shi de's mother sent him back to Taiwan , so maybe his father died and he took over as the company's CEO. I really hope they will be able to explain this clearly.
WARNING SPOILERS! Long thread incoming because I'm really invested in this show.I really like the show, and it makes me sad that many people are confused and mad about some scenes. So I'm here to share my theories and also explain scenes to enlighten some people maybe.
1) Why didn't they communicate when we live in a time of technology and social media? In S2 EP 1 episode, it was explained that Gao Shide and Shu Yi did communicate, but Gao Shi De doesn't reply immediately, or it takes a week for him to respond. The reason for his busyness might've been hinted at in the special episode because Shi De was seen looking stressed while holding a medical bill. The medicines stated in the bill are apparently for pregnant women, so my theory is that Shi de's mom got pregnant. This led to Shi de being busy because he probably had to work to sustain his mother's medical bills while also taking care of her at home or the hospital. This also coincides with what Zhen Xuan said in S2 Ep 1: Shi De is a momma's boy.
2) Why didn't Shu Yi confront Shi de when he saw him with the girl and baby? I mean, who wouldn't be shocked when you see the love of your life being sweet with some girl who even wiped food out of his mouth. I don't think Shu Yi thought that the baby is Shi de's though I mean he's not dumb; give him some credit lol. It also doesn't help that after Shu Yi saw Shi de with the girl, Shi de texted him and said that he would like to explain some things in person instead of texting it, so Shu Yi probably thought he took a while to go home because he was with some girl. Meanwhile, according to Shu Yi's monologue in the special EP, seeing things is enough there's no need to explain things in person. ( Viewers seemed to overlook this detail ) People forget that Shu Yi did the same when he had a crush on his girl best friend, but she had a crush on Shu yi's other best friend. Instead of confronting them, he chose to distance himself instead. So Shu Yi not talking to Shi De is not really out of character.
3) Why didn't Shi de contact Shi De through other platforms or their common friends? Shu Yi most probably blocked Shi de on all social media platforms after a while because Shi de said that Shu Yi started not to read his messages. Bing Wei and Zhe Yu are seen working for Shu Yi in the Special Ep, and Shu Yi probably tried to antagonize Shi de to them by saying Shi de cheated on him with some girl. It makes sense, too, that they side with Shu Yi because who in their right mind would side with a guy who barely replies and who broke a promise to be back after a few months.
4) What stopped Shi De from coming back after his mother gave birth, though? I mean, it makes sense that he also had to take care of the baby, right... Shi De did try to communicate to him afterward, but Shu Yi blocked him, and Aside from this, I think Shu Yi's dad was also involved, and it makes sense that he can do so since he has power.
So, here are my thoughts, I should do my assignments, but I chose to do this instead because I love this show so much ASDSFGDFS. We can’t really expect them to explain things all at once too, there needs to be some sort of suspense so viewers will be curious and also it’s actually fun to theorize. Anyways, please support the show through WeTV guys by buying VIP if you guys can, so they know that the feedback is excellent, and we, therefore, might get a Season 3.
