Same question. How was Shi Yeol not with LS during the king's assassination? He should have been beside him. It also wouldn't make sense that LS did not tell SY of the plan when YH knew about it. Even if LS insisted that SY spend his time with Hong-ju, he would not abandon his master.

I get what you mean. It'd be nice if LS could sit on the throne. However, when DO said, she'd like to go far away, it's like foreshadowing that they'd travel together and him being king would prevent them from doing that. I agree with giving everyone a happy and closed ending. I'd be satisfied with any ending as long as there are no deaths, tbh.

I have thought of that too, since Lee Seol doesn't seem to have a concrete plan after he gets the throne. Personally, I'd like LG to become the king because he has good intentions and is already a scholar.
