Very well written review! I've been wanting to see the sequel so badly... and you're review made me crave for it more (in a good way). I really felt bad when I missed seeing them when they came to Manila to promote the film.
I absolutely enjoyed watching this. The Watanabe -Satoh chemistry is amazing. They pulled off the estrange father-son relationship in such a touching and fun way. It's like a breath of fresh air from the K-dramas I've seen for the past months :P
At a young age, I think he's one great character actor; and will definitely go a long way. I just saw recently the interview he made with an amazing Hollywood director Tim Burton, and was so impressed in the way he handled the interview. He's just so natural and you can really sense his sincerity in the way he asks and share his feelings and opinions towards Burton's work. I was actually hoping that Burton will see Takeru's acting prowess and make a film with him :P
I was quite hesitant to see this film, thinking that it might be too "teenager-ish". But it made me appreciate Takeru's acting more :) I can see his maturity and how credible he is. Seen him best in Rurouni Kenshin, of course :P
Basically we're talking about the modern-day Cinderella - poor girl but rich in spirit and character, and the modern-day prince charming who is "saved" by Cinderella from his rotten world of narcissism and cowardice in accepting the fact that he has fallen head over heels... I didn't mean to sound feminist :P
This should be given a title FOOL house instead :D Both characters are foolish and so childish. And I was fooled…
Just wondering, though.. are the lead stars' portrayal of their character reflects the real-life characteristics of adolescent/adult males/ females in korea?
On to my next Takeru Satoh's J-drama! :P
Interesting comparison you made there :)
