now that the director has changed the team and cast for this looks very promising. i just wish it was based on another novel. i'm still not sold on the story... i read about 90% of it a few months ago and didn't feel like finishing it. i don't know how the "ML changes his entire face and becomes completely unrecognizable, without any facial scars no less" can work in a non-fantasy historical drama without feeling ridiculous. their revenge plans weren't really all that engaging or exciting either. with so many better novels available for adaptation don't know why linmon/tencent chose this one, it's not even a big ip.
I still hope it turns out good maybe linghe/yuxiao chemistry and acting can save the plot and the screenwriter can make it more interesting than the novel.
There are rumors that Ci Tang's director has changed while others say it's still Yi Jun. also about FL casting Yuxiao still rumored but some say it's not her and production is postponed and won't happen in September anymore.

I think after almost 10 eps we all get it, the cgi, editing and directing sucks so just drop it and move on. I hope i'll see more comments about the plot and characters today
