S1 was good in a heroic way, and S2 was good in a brutal way.
I personally think that this season would've been better if the story were 8 eps instead of 7. It felt like we didn't have enough time for Taegeom's redemption and finding out which cop betrayed the police force. For this season, they focused on the brutality of being tied to criminals and protecting the family. However, like the rest of the audience, I also find that S1 was a bit more enjoyable. I think that's because almost every character in S1 was very cool (or had a cool moment), which made watching the drama very exciting and intense. S2 lacked new cool characters, which felt less exciting, as it seemed to be focused on the tension between the good and bad sides, as well as the guilt and responsibility of putting everyone in danger. With all that said, I still find this season very enjoyable, as the fight scenes were very well executed and the brotherhood is still stronger than ever, which I think is the most important aspect of this series. I guess it is only natural that S2 is a bit different from S1, or else the story would feel like it's just repeating itself. Hopefully, S3 will be even better with Dex and Park Seojun in the lineup. I also hope we get some new characters on Gunwoo and Woojin's side.
Jihoon Kim shared the Best Actor honor in the Human Fantasy (Miniseries) category. The 2025 SBS Drama Awards, broadcast…
Don't forget that both Sungjae and Bona won the Top Excellence Award and Cha Chung Hwa won the Excellence Award (Female) in the Mini-Series Human Fantasy category too! So proud of our Gwigoong cast!!!
Just finished rewatching this and I know I can rewatch this again and again.
However, nothing is perfect in this world, there is one problem. I find the second couple extremely irrelevant and I find Ju Man extremely infuriating. But since the main couple was just too good, and their chemistry was right up my alley, I would still rate this a 9.5/10.
For anyone who's going to start watching this and also feel the same way I did where you find the second couple a bit tedious to watch, you can skip all of their scenes as it's irrelevant to the main plot.
With all that said, this drama will always have a special place in my heart and the main lead couple will probably always be my favourite couple of all time ❤️
I feel like this drama is a hit or miss for a lot of people. I wholeheartedly believe that this should've been at least an 8.5/10 but I guess a lot of viewers either don't know about the webtoon or just don't enjoy complicated dramas that require a lot of attention when watching.
Honestly such a good drama. I don't normally like historical dramas nor dramas about ghosts, but the plot and the chemistry between the characters made this a wonderful watch!!
Just wished that they had a tiny bit more kiss scenes but overall this drama was very enjoyable. 9.5/10!
why are the first male leads in korean historical dramas always pretty flower boys, and the charming manly men…
Honestly, I wouldn't say that the first ML is a pretty flower boy. Maybe he's right in between a flower boy and a manly man? But to be more accurate, he's just a silly and playful dude haha. It feels like the playful character in this drama is gonna be pretty close to how he is irl.
(btw, this is coming from a fan of his, especially knowing how he is with his group BTOB, dudes a rare specimen, you can't rly put him in a category 😂)
I'm thinking about to watch this drama, but I'm not sure yet.Can someone please let me know, what this drama is…
I think it depends on your personal preference and how you enjoy dramas. For me, I actually really liked this drama.
Even though the last episode was a bit weird, throughout the many dramas I've watched, I think that the overall plot for this drama was up there with my top 10 most well-written dramas I've ever seen (I like complicated plots haha). I also think that the acting for each actor was very good. But the main reason why I like this drama is because it makes you think and reflect a lot about your life and your values.
If you're not into heavy plots, deep thinking or reflecting and are just looking for a light and fun drama, then this will not be for you. But if you are still intrigued, then I think it's worth giving it a shot. I can't guarantee that you'll like it as much as I do tho.
The first episode was kinda cringe, cos the cast weren't very good at acting. But starting from episode 3, everything got so much better. It was so funny especially when they broke character 😂 I'm really looking forward to S2 !
The story was so good! I think this is one of the best plot driven dramas I've ever seen!! Every episode was so interesting I couldn't stop watching! 😆 If you watch dramas just for the romance, then this drama is probably not for you, but if you love unpredictable, well-written (slightly complicated) plots, then this is definitely for you!! (Btw, I'll have to warn you, the main character is kind of a prick sometimes.)
Also, top notch acting from everyone! Especially Yook Sungjae! Probably the best idol actor I've ever seen!
I'm a Melody (BTOB fan) and I'm actually glad that BTOB didn't win.
Not that they don't deserve to win, but since they are already in stable position as an idol group, I'm glad they didn't overshadow the other newer groups and take their shot at reaching success. Although fan based voting is really questionable, I feel like everyone who watched the show understood that no matter who the winner is, all 6 groups are equally talented and have their own style. Throughout the show, the BTOB members showed that they are good role models, genuine, talented and humble seniors to the audience, and that already feels like a win for me.
My comment ends here, but if anyone is interested in BTOB, feel free to read more 😊~~
If I really have to nitpick, in all honesty, I feel like BTOB only showcased 5% of what they can do in Kingdom (seriously, I'm not joking these dudes r legit). The reason why I feel like they didn't show all of their ability is because not only a few members are missing, but knowing BTOB, those 'high notes' and harmonies in Kingdom are nothing compared to what they normally do; which would be complicated layering of vocals and rap and adlibs galore. Here is a perfect example of what they normally do: https://youtu.be/D4LSK4tr8jM?si=wtt4z77cszley8eL (the second half is incredibleee) Anyway, the show was still so good, as they did really epic stages which we us Melodies never really got to see before, and this show actually helped bring in so many international fans which us Melodies will always appreciate 💙
Loved the concept of this drama, the plot was great too. But the age difference (appearance wise) is actually disgusting. Imagine a 35+ year old looking man with a 19 year old girl in her school uniform. I am actually baffled by the amount of people that can overlook this. I get that the actress is older than the girl she played, but Eun-tak literally behaved like a kid and called her lover 'ajushi' (uncle). Its just is so weird and hard to look past it 😭
Just finished this series. What a cute and wholesome drama 💙 Btw, why are all Sungjae's roles in the dramas he stars in so likable? Sungjae never chooses a bad role 👍🏻
