The first asian drama I watched was GTO (2012). I remember I watched it when I finished the anime and I wanted to give the drama a try... However, to be honest, that version isn't the best at all. And it's one of the reasons why I can see where you're coming from when you say lately there are no good j-dramas (and I'm currently watching Shitsuren Chocolatier, which is good, but you know, it's nothing special, like most of the older ones I watched). And then I watched the GTO's 1998 version which I found to be SO much better... And though not the first, that's the one I consider to be the drama which REALLY got me into asian dramas :)
Thank you so much for your recommendations! I need to add them to my plan to watch list! I see Kimi wa Petto is in your favourites, I guess that's a must watch too? I'm actually torn between watching that or Stand up!! next.

I feel like I enjoy J-dramas more to be honest... Well, at least so far the best ones I've watched are japanese, which doesn't mean I don't like k-dramas as well. But you see, I don't think I've watched enough yet, but so far, yeah j-dramas. I feel like you're more of a k-drama person, am I right? :)

First of all, thank you for your answer ^~^
The main actress was in My Sassy Girl and I must say she was absolutely fantastic there, the movie was so great! And by great I mean it's one of my favourite movies haha (and really, I must say that you should watch it when you have the time, it's definitely worth it, especially if you like the actress!)
And I guess that means I'll have to watch YWCFTS! Not sure if I'm going to wait until it finishes airing or not though... Waiting for new episodes is definitely terribly ;-;
And I haven't watched Master's Sun!! But it has been in my plan-to-watch list for a while now so I guess I'll end up watching it someday... I've heard the best things about it!

And I do agree, Hana Yori Dango is definitely a masterpiece! The only thing I can say regarding other versions is that the Korean version is not worth watching, at least compared to the Japanese one... The ending (well the drama ending, not the movie) is still stuck in my head, because cuteness ^~^
Are you enjoying You Who Came From the Stars so far? Because I've been meaning to watch it but yeah still wondering if it's worth it or not.
