it's just because they just met after some time they will become like a family
it was weird for me too but i guess they wanted to show how they'll grow close to each other through the hard days and become a family ... and actually it was realy touchy for me when they started to help each other and become close .

he's been treating her this way even before the appearance of the princess ... because of the pond between him and the emperor he's afraid to tell her about his feelings but at the same time he knows how she feels about him and he's not making anything clear to her or sending her away so she could forget him and i think this is selfishness of him ... he needs to tell her his reasons instead of giving her that cold face leaving her in torture
