Best chemistry and acting by the leads and supporting characters. I can't tell anyone who wasn't acting well because EVERYONE was gorgeous and acting really well. It was easy to get into the setting of the drama and immerse ourselves, and even though I love ao ruipeng, I would say I prefer this to MM. It has a clear plot and one of the most matched (power-wise) couple as well as a couple who's a pillar to each other in the most emotionally mature beautiful ways in the later episodes.

lolol you gave it a one-star?? i feel like the couple is very mature and as soon as the misunderstandings clear up (pretty fast I might add in xianxia terms), the couple is very emotionally transparent, mature how they handle it and beautifully reliant and independent as well of each other, which is very beautiful, with the fl not being reduced to a sobbing weak cry-baby and continues being a strong badass who also loves her significant other. I have seen multiple HMH dramas and I can say one of his best performances was in this drama, though I haven't recorded all my progress with his dramas on MDL. I would highly recommend this to people who want to see a xianxia drama so I don't know where that came from either lol but you're allowed to have your own opinion obviously!
Yes Situ Ling is the ultimate villian and final boss
I would say he wasn't a final boss POWERFUL villain lol he was consumed with the need to possess mingyi and became mad with that need along with - importantly - his family having abused him so much throughout his life, and bozai "stealing" his mingxian (to him) didn't help. He was the final villain they had to defeat, but I felt bad for him at points.

The drama follows the plot more or less, except for the romance part - ji bozai and mingyi immediately start actually getting physical and sleeping together.
For ji bozai, he is an actual womanizer who's slept with many fairies and continues getting found with a maid and stuff even after mingyi was supposed to be his "only fairy" when they both were pretending, and for mingyi it's just a means to an end and a way of getting the antidote she needs (you'll get to know this in the first ep).
Situ Ling is a reoccuring character in the drama but he's just a side character in the novel with not that much importance comparitively.
The novel has a few plot points where mingyi loses trust in ji bozai, like decisions he is forced to take to keep the peace between realms but mingyi is heartbroken and rejects him marriage requests after the issue is resolved lolol.
I would personally say the drama is far better and Lu Yuxiao and Minghao EMBODIED their roles in the drama to the point this S class drama progressed to S+, and the supporting cast was also PHENOMENAL.

They could walk across the lake/pond with no problem, so the feelings weren't the lie, the minute he started writing the name "Ming Yi" was when the punishment started, maybe that is the lie. This realisation comes to Jbz in a later episode.
