There are people out to kill him and he has no allies except her.
Even being overly superb like the fl is stupidity on his own, as she didn't even see the wrong she did to him. nalatoo also called her decision rightfully dumb.
And he wasn’t building a career(where this come from now?) as he already had the power and acted according to the authority he possessed. Again, it wasn't arrogance that made him hurt. Also after the hints about how the world works in the Rong household, to not admit that what he did to the corrupt official was righteous within that world, is intellectually dishonest.
You want to whitewash the fl by downgrading and finding fault with the ml, only to put their actions on the same level when their unluckly are not. This is the worst kind of whitewashing, and I find it very unfair. So, yes, I agree to disagree.
There are people out to kill him and he has no allies except her.
He never had any ill intentions from the start, he was simply doing his job and needed her to enter the household to properly investigate.
And he doesn’t even remember what he should have been doing, so whatever intention he might have had is meaningless. Also intentions cannot be weighed the same as actual actions. If he had truly deceived her, they would be on par but from the moment he entered the household, he had no intention, nor any memory. That makes her actions worse.

He may be arrogant, but dumb? Definitely not. The fl never considered him like that, she didn’t like the ml in the human trafficking case because she was involved in it for her own business, not out of a sense of justice, and he acted first. Still, even if she was bothered, she herself said that If handled well, it was better this way.
And we still don’t know how much of what happened to the ml was planned. But for someone in his position, if he wanted to act righteously, arrogant or not, it was bound to bring him trouble with all those corrupted officers. His arrogance didn’t help, but it was his righteousness that put him in trouble, not his character.
She is a powerful woman in a matriarchal household. Probably, protecting him on her own terms felt like the best…
Not ostage but without memory she is his only clue. It’s more like blackmail. And she offer protection but he doesn't even know if it's true. As you say, no Omniscient Viewpoint for him.

Well, he initially had a plan, but after losing his memory he became sincere toward her, while she deliberately hid that information from him. The situation is complex, but she acted worse.
She is a powerful woman in a matriarchal household. Probably, protecting him on her own terms felt like the best…
Absolutely true. But so far, the drama has been handling complex situations fairly well. Let’s hope it doesn’t fail here and gives her mistake the importance it deserves.
I still don’t understand the FL’s rationale for not telling him what his identity is. I can’t see any benefits…
She is a powerful woman in a matriarchal household. Probably, protecting him on her own terms felt like the best favor she could do for him, at least in her mind. She didn’t even think about the fact that this would limit his agency or free will. She’s likely not used to dealing with strong, independent, and clever men who can take care of themselves. Still, this was wrong on her part.
On his side, he didn’t remember anything, she was his only clue to understanding who he was. He also knew she wouldn’t give him the truth for free, so he worked for her, making himself useful. What he did was reasonable, but now that they’ve fallen in love and this new discovery has come out, who knows what will happen or how they’ll react.
I think he is REALLY good, and maybe that’s exactly why they’ll make him do something terrible later in the…
Not on purpose, but the classic ‘It shouldn’t have turned out like this.’ Look at all the family plotting, someone using him is definitely an option. Or he could even succumb, he’s human too, despite his goodness.
i dont know man that plan is kinda risky? i think that guy is lieing to him... and also wouldnt it be alot easier…
Or as Joyce say, the ambush was real and he had to improvise the jump and since he wanted to enter the family the officer belived it was all a plan. Or he killed two birds with one stone. He enters the family and let the guards believe he’s dead. So he can discovers the traitors in the office with the help of his right-hand man. Very dangerous but necessary and believable.
This also answers those who were doubtful about the sincerity of the ml’s feelings. It was very clear to me, the way they look at each other is the same, and their bond naturally develops alongside the complicity in their scheme. Also, marrying her without feelings couldn’t have been wise, since he didn’t even know who he was (he was even scared, remembering only that he had killed an official). Too smart and too righteous for that move, even without memory.
Who else turned up the volume when Neo ost started to play? When he was under the tree, or when he walked into his room after the ceremony. I know I did,😄🧡
Ohhhh, so it was all his plan, but he really got hurt, lost his memory, and what was supposed to be fake for him became real. I did wonder how he could have been poisoned, knowing he has enemies and how smart he is. 🤔This explains everything.
The way he looks at her, with his big, soulful eyes 👀, reminds me of that cat in the movie “Shrek” who…
Haha, true! When he looks at her to takes his hand, and the camera slowly zooms in, it really looks like puss in boots! 😺 I’m even reading old comments, must have missed this one. 🤣
