I'm just going to put out a theory I saw about his father. this person suggested that JH sister (that we saw in the flashback with the slave) loves that slave and gets found out by her father. so in order to not being shame to his household he either kills her or casts her out, as she is now tainted. we saw how much child JH loves and cares for his sister, so he leaves the house and denounces his father and all things connected to the Confucian values.
They should have made the FL younger, she was 36 when she first goes back in time. But she mentions how she met the ML when she was in college, it doesn't really make a lot of sense. Why wouldn't they have got married already. Especially when co-habiting isn't very common in Korea.
OMG the LOOK Ryangeum gave to Gilchae! why does he think she's caused his suffering when it's pretty much ENTIRELY his fault?? I understand Gilchae intially got engaged (which would make sense) but I doubt she would've continued knowing he was alive. By the time she found out it was too late for her. She has to abondon her family and life just for the man she loves. It is alot easier for Janghyun to leave everything behind as his simply doesn't have anything to hold him back.
After reading some info about Injo and what happens to the crown prince, I realised during this episode that the second prince (who later becomes the king) isn't with them when they are in Qing? I don't expect the drama to be exactly the same as the recorded history but, it has followed it pretty closely so far. So I wonder what will happen. And the way Lee Janghyun mentions how pitiful the crown prince is, I assume it is also hinting towards what's going to happen to him in the future. THIS DRAMA IS SO GOOD!
