Quite a tricky question and i don't want to give you spoilers. If you have just watched 7-8 episode then according to that the ml father is good and really cares for him but as you slowly move towards the end of the drama you will get to know a lot of twist.
Still i would say ml father is good guy.

I just hope that this season too is outstanding like season 1. I don't want to get disappointed after waiting for so long. Hope it stands on expectations as season 1 really sets up the bar high.
