Since yall are so eager to hate on the actors and the drama when really, it’s Netflix who’s in the fault - here’s why the entire thing is a MISTRANSLATION from Netflix: There are two ways to understand the sentence, "팔티마 공습이 이어지고 있는 이즈마엘에 한국인들이 무장 세력에게 납치됐습니다,” and the translator translated it by looking at the words SINGULARLY resulting to this: “The ongoing Paltima airstrikes are taking place in Izmael, where Koreans have been attacked by militants.” This translation would’ve been correct BUT taking into consideration that directly on the screen behind Yuri, there was an arrow pointing from Izmael to Paltima (which refers to the airstrikes (?)) and the news header on the bottom (“Koreans kidnapped by the Izmaels) it should’ve been translated to “Amid ongoing airstrikes on Paltima by Izmael, Korean nationals abducted by the militants took place in Izmael.”
I’ve commented this yesterday and will do so until this unnecessary hate stops. Yall are going too far rn. Like bffr. Atp yall are just hating on it to satisfy yourselves so just stop. Enjoy the drama or not but don’t ruin it for everyone else.
Here’s why and how the entire dialogue was mistranslated by Netflix: There are two ways to understand the sentence, "팔티마 공습이 이어지고 있는 이즈마엘에 한국인들이 무장 세력에게 납치됐습니다,” and the translator translated it by looking at the words SINGULARLY resulting to this: “The ongoing Paltima airstrikes are taking place in Izmael, where Koreans have been attacked by militants.” This translation would’ve been correct BUT taking into consideration that directly on the screen behind Yuri, there was an arrow pointing from Izmael to Paltima (which refers to the airstrikes (?)) and the news header on the bottom (“Koreans kidnapped by the Izmaels), it should’ve been translated to “Amid ongoing airstrikes on Paltima by Izmael, Korean nationals abducted by the militants took place in Izmael.”
Now that yall got an explanation, can we just all chill now and stop hating on the hundreds that worked their asses off to make this drama?????
Sis if you really need to boycott someone, boycott Netflix for the mistranslation - not this drama who hundreds…
That sentence alone could be interpreted in two ways but the fact that they showed the arrow (referring to the air strike??) and the news header which says that “Koreans kidnapped by the Izmaels,” it is obvious that it should’ve been translated to “Amid ongoing airstrikes on Paltima by Izmael, Korean nationals abduction by the militants took place in Izmael.” Check out what I commented below your comment because that’s in more depth tbh

Sis if you really need to boycott someone, boycott Netflix for the mistranslation - not this drama who hundreds of people worked their asses off to make. Wake up girl. Just because you’re “boycotting” this drama over a 5minute, incorrectly translated scene, DOES NOT mean that you’re making a difference lmao. Be ffr
if the ratings don't matter then why are you crying about it? you're the one who need to touch some grass.
Crying?? I don’t feel any tears falling from my face. And yea, the ratings don’t matter because people tend to not believe MDL reviews because of the biased involved - for example, yall mass down voting this because of a 5 minute scene.
Those that are mass rating it to .5 stars should go and touch some grass. Yall were the ones that were like “omg this show is so good” and just because of a 5 minute scene you all start to hate on it?? Be fr. The show succeeded already so these petty ratings do not matter at all lmao
This drama leaves me with so many questions, granted were juat 4 eps in. 1. Does Hee Joo's mother really think…
I read the novel, so here’s some spoilers based on the novel (the drama may be different) - skip if you don’t want to be spoiled
1. Although Hee Joo’s mother is the one that told her not to speak, she basically forgot throughout the years
2. In the novel, Hong In-A was abroad to regain her voice because she actually lost her voice in the same accident which resulted to the death of Hee Joo’s sibling and her mum telling Hee Jo to not speak anymore.
3. The kidnapper is the real Baek Sa Eon who was kicked out of the family and presumed dead since the family did not want a psychopath in the family. He’s conducting all this mess to take his spot back. - the screenwriter of the drama may have changed this part because I saw some comments assuming that the sml was the kidnapper which kinda makes sense.
