It probably has to do with our personal experiences, likes/dislikes etc. and who we are that makes us empathize…
Oh no, it's not like I'm saying Dosan is better, they're both flawed. But honestly, Jipyeong is also a compulsive liar, and he also mistreated grandma several times.. like how can you do that

I know people have different tastes, but I don't understand the trend to love characters that are overall petty and mean to everyone because they had a terrible past (and somehow that's an excuse). I seriously can't believe the character is like 30. They all act like teenagers.
I have looked through your drama ratings and I have noticed that you rated Itaewon Class much higher. What does…
I actually did change my opinion on Itaewon Class. If I think about it, it's not a drama I would watch again, it could have been shorter and the romance was very lacking. My taste has changed drastically this year -as I've watched more dramas than ever thanks to quarantine- so I will have to edit many of my ratings.
I think I've said it before but I mostly rate out of enjoyment and not really thinking about how complex or realistic a plot is. I did enjoy TWOTM a lot (I mean 8.5 is actually a very good rating, right?) but I still couldn't care for most of the characters and the ending felt quite rushed. You're right, bad people often win, and I LOVE some evil characters, but I've seen this type of character (Taeoh, Hyunseo's) far too many times. The abuser, toxic, manipulative partner, blah blah blah. It's not new. It's important to consider the demographics: if I were a 30 year old woman, I would've enjoyed it a lot more.
Life sucks, yes, that's exactly why I prefer to watch things that aren't depressing (to me). It distracts me and gives me peace of mind. Fantasy is my favorite genre, by the way.
