Here's my attempt to come up with a textual diagram on how the characters are related to each other:
Jao Karmfah - Yaowalak - Kietkong JK was engaged to Yaowalak. Yaowalak ended up marrying Kietkong. Later on, Yaowalak and JK were once again in a relationship. Kietkong was so paranoid of JK. Yaowalak and Kietkong had a daughter named Yingyor.
Jao Karmfah - Fongkae - Yingsak JK fell in love with Fongkae at first sight. Fongkae loves Yingsak. However, she was being maltreated by his family. Fongkae and Yingsak had 2 children named Sommapa and Sakchai.
Yaowalak - Kietkong - Pleum Kietkong and Pleum had a secret relationship. I think they got back together, after Yaowalak and JK renewed their relationship. Kietkong and Pleum had a daughter named Plaewadee.
Fongkae - Yingsak - Chomesamang Yingsak set his eyes on Chomesamang. I think this is one of the triggers to Fongkae's death. Chomesamang is Kietkong's niece and in effect Yingyor's cousin.
Kietkong - Pleum - Fu Fu took responsibility of Plaewadee. Pleum and Fu had other children.
Pakinai and Pubadee are children of the friends of Kietkong and Yaowalak.
Plaewadee - Pakinai Yingyor - Pubadee Not sure if Sommapa was linked to Pakinai or Pubadee, but Sommapa later on had a relationship with Thana Not sure also if Sakchai had a romantic relationship with either Plaewadee or Yingyor.
The cast for all their series are selected months in advance. For instance, "Happy Birthday" and "The Gifted"…
It kinda clicked on me that hey it would be cool to have a new cast if this were to have a Season 2, with the original cast appearing as guest or recurring characters. And having said that, I think (and agree with you) that Pluem can be the "Pang" there. I kinda saw him in some clips of Slam Dance the Series, and I think he can have his own take of being a leader.
Not really sure what happened with Plustor as he has no upcoming shows with GMMTV this year. He's got one upcoming series with GMM25 (Dok Kun Sieng Kaen starring Toomtam), and he's playing support along with other GMMTV actors Jamie Jutapich and AJ (one of the twins in The Gifted).
Seldom do they post ratings of non-lakorns. I think this is high, considering it's a Saturday night, the audience isn't really mainstream, and it's airing at GMM25. (Mook's debut lakorn Mia Noi which aired at GMM25 (MonTue 2000H UTC -7 timeslot) a few months back had a rating of 1.0% during its finale, and it was considered a smash.)
Should there be another Tor-Fern series, can they do something similar to 49 Days/Pure Love?
Tor for the role of Scheduler/Jake and Fern for Diane. They're not the couple there but they've got lots of skinship since they're in a different realm.
If I may add - Esther for Ysabel, Tongtong/Film Thanapat for Dave, Kang Vorakorn for Raymond, and Bifern Anchasa/Camilla for Kayla. (I've only seen the Philippine remake and I've heard that it's better than the original KDrama.)
Obviously, I want One31 or GMMTV to do a remake of this. I don't think they've done a KDrama remake before. It's usually True4U, but MLFTS (Nadech-Matt) will be under Channel 3.
It seems like GMM is finally getting some money. This series and He's coming to me have been filmed so well. Whoever…
To be fair, this is just the first episode. The story is just being laid out. It's another thing though if towards the end of the series, Kai and Third still behave the same. That'll suck coz there's no character development.
According to Thai Wiki page of GMMTV, it appears that this will air sometime in August 2019. Maybe they don't want this to run at the same time as Baifern's upcoming drama in One31.
In case you guys are wondering, the director is X Nuttaphong, same director as Room Alone 1 & 2, Secret Seven, Wolf, amongst other GMMTV shows (not sure if he also handled Puppy Honey). The shots are terrific as expected. And he seems to be really comfortable working with Off and Gun (based on the IG posts), as he has already handled them in the past projects and has seen their growth in the process.
For me this is the best GMMTV series pilot of 2019. (I haven't seen He's Coming to Me yet.) They had a back story on how Third and Kai first met, but it was cleverly integrated in the story line such that it wasn't told in a cliche, linear manner. The music used is terrific, the synth-y mood fits well into the scenes. (I'm a fan of The 1975, and Getsunova's sound kinda reminds me of Matthew Healy's band.) They also seem to love the use of broad, open spaces as they showcased in the scenes so far.
White is fine, albeit I wish he has a bigger role here. Mike looks promising (as evident by his bad guy role in Wolf), and I hope to see him in more roles in the future. Gun is obviously great as an actor and he's the heart and soul of this series, but it's Off who has shown the biggest improvement here acting-wise. I'm already sooo damn annoyed by his character in the first episode, such a loving asshole.
