Just wanted to say I loved your frequent comments on Viki for this drama(and for Fuyao!), I think because I remembered seeing your icon a lot haha. They make watching a lot more entertaining ^_^

I agree! Many episodes in the middle portion or towards the end were longer than they should be since it started to drag a little. I really wish they spent more time on the aftermath of what happened and tie up ends with the supporting characters as well.

I've read through many English and Chinese forums' discussions and the only ones that mention being immortal are the English ones, which is why I suspected subs to be the issue. To address the costumes, many netizens were critical of how they did not do their hair in the style of royalty but again didn't raise any suspicions about immortality. Chinese sites also describe the end setting to be Tianquan. In any case, either side could be correct, but the ending was pretty poorly done and rushed anyway so perhaps it really doesn't matter how it's interpreted.

No, I'm not saying Dramafever has bad subs, some things just get lost in translation. For peace of mind check out their weibo! There are many posts essentially congratulating them on breaking the chains of fate and getting to experience sweetness in their lives together as a couple. The poem isn't talking about their current situation per se, it's more a declaration of Wuji's love.

It seems to be the vagueness of the English subtitles that's the problem. The poem was actually included at the beginning of the novel, and in fact Wuji didn't say these lines directly to Fuyao. The scene was changed a bit in the drama to be included I guess. They were a bit misleading, but no they did not die, and in fact they rule Tianquan together.

Did they borrow casts from Eternal Love lmao
Lol it's bc the studio (owned by Yang Mi, the leading actress) produced both these dramas and the actors are under her studio.

Title Still 17
This show is the best at getting characters to go "Wait!.... nevermind" If they go through with it though, I guess the story would be over.

Cool article, I'm learning Mandarin right now with one of the ultimate goals of being able to translate Cdramas.…
I agree. Don't give up! You'll definitely improve with time and there are translation/general editors for a reason :)
And kudos for learning Mandarin. It's a challenging language and there are definitly shortages of subs for many Cdramas!
