I can finally breath a sigh of relief that it got good feedbacks 😍 The hardwork and efforts from the cast & crew didn't go in vain 👏😭. The first two episodes was really promising. Making me look forward how the story will continue to unfold! So excited 😬.....
• KYJ as Hong Chun Gi. Finally a good character and excellent production quality that will show how great of an actress she is. She nailed every scenes from comedy to drama!!! Gonna love her character so much. So far she doesn't give off vibes of a damsel in distress. She's rather smart, spunky and bold 😅. So evident on how she handle those people who wronged her and she even initiated a kiss when she was younger LOL 😆.
• Although we only got a palanquin scene for Yooj and Paul but their chemistry is already looking good. Also can't wait to see her chemistry with the two Princes....
• The CGI is not perfect but its already good enough for a k-drama production. Its not distracting to the point of ruining the whole drama experience 🤭
• Amazing music and cinematography. When that song started to play during the rain ritual Ohhh~~ Goosebumps. Also that painting scene of Yooj and the masked dancer was really cool. Applaud to PD Jang awesomeness.
Please let it be a well balance of romance, fantasy and political intrigue in the future 🙏.
I will quote this comments for those who think when Suea was Leo were just only a dream.
1. I think it was not a dream. There were some details in the drama showing this. Suae could change his phone when he wanted (a Samsung Galaxy S6, while he said that he didn’t have money to buy a new pair of flip-flops), he could drive a car (while he owned a nearly broken bike), and he actually paid 50,000 baht for the tailor so trouble was solved easily. Finally, when he and Ning broke up, he told her to wait until he graduated so they would live a thriving life together. Ning made her decision and he said that she would definitely regret it. Yeah he was actually a rich guy pretending to be broke. I think the sequence was made just to introduce the next part of the series.
2. At first, I was confused by Joo taking a nap on Seua’s shoulder at the end of the episode. Was Seua being Leo just a dream? I had to rewatch twice to make sure. But to be honest, I think Seua is Leo. If she was only dreaming of this wouldn’t that make her a little materialistic? I am sure that’s not how Joo’s character is supposed to be perceived. Also what kind of dream would last so long? I am sure the director of the lakorn knows better than that.
I have mixed feelings about Seua being the rich Leo. It makes for a cute ending and we know that their parents won’t be against their relationship. The parents will even push for it. Just look at how Joo’s mother is already acting! On the other hand, it makes the love less beautiful. Just a tiny bit less beautiful. Joo loved Seua for who he was from the get go. They could have just kept his character as the poor temple boy. But eh whatever! It’s not that big of a deal. Ning must be the one who regrets the most haha. I actually feel a little sorry for her – like at 2%.
I tried the other parts of the Ugly Duckling Series but they were not that interesting. I will probably try watching the last part with Esther and Sean. I loved both of them in their previous lakorn. Hopefully, they won’t disappoint me!
Im so happy that ZLY will also have another quality drama next year! Knowing the production team is from Nirvana in Fire and Battle of Changsha Im in already!
