To them it might not but they should know what market they are targeting to, exactly INTERNATIONAL audience and a huge massice fan are from South Asia and Arabic countries, also they shoot this in Dubai as well, they were not shooting a TV drama but OTT drama for Netflix so they should have consider it and yes it did becoming controversial. For them it not cuz I did saw Goblin, My Demon and idk some more where they just show someone as god and etc (yeah i know i should not have watched those as well, guilty pleasure TwT).
On the other hand, Muslim do belief in Jesus and he is very respectful for us! idk how western just become so like easy to mock there own religion and make many shows with devils like Lucifer(which i didn't watched and not planning to do so), they normalized it but Muslims never make shows like this and they find it very disrespectful. And Muslims belief is that Jesus is not a god but prophet and messenger of Allah.
Watched 1st ep yesterday didn't liked it that much, and reading the comments feel like it's the same for ep 2... well what a waste potential i am seeing
