I tried watching it but I had to drop it. It's like it's trying so hard to be funny and it shows plus the male…
he was good in Under the Queen's Umbrella even okish in Wedding Impossible but this drama just gave me a ick he was trying to hard to act cute at times so I get you but I think you should give Under the Queen's Umbrella a chance he can act I think he just need to find better projects but considering he's newbie makes sense that it'll take time
first half of the show was pretty cute but it went downhill after episode 9 onwards it was so draggy but gotta say the first 8 episodes built up was so wholesome and heart fluttering
for real. like seok-jin said, losing dongjae, but people who can't do basic math remaining.also, freak yoomin,…
like yoomin is so disappointing like for a surgeon i was expecting her to be a big brain specially at that picture game but I just cant deal with the fact how gullible she was which got dongjae eliminated 😔
I find it hard to put it in words how much I loved this drama. It's beautiful, poignant and realistic. The writing and directing makes you stand in each of their pov's and understand each of their perspectives and struggles that come along with those decisions.
Till the very end you could see that Deok Im never wanted to be his concubine. It was said that she preferred a frugal lifestyle and didn't enjoy the royals much. I thought the last episode was so well thought and executed. It stayed true to the real history part too. She rejected him three times and the king never forced her to accept him. Like she herself stated, there were both good and sad moments. However the good was mostly during her court lady days. She didn't like depending on the king for the little happiness.
The last episode showed how lonely everyone in the palace were. Deok Im died after 3 years of being a concubine. Her three children died (the prince aged 3, miscarriage with her daughter and the last child whom she passed away with) How can anyone possibly describe this sort of immense pain?
I'm glad that they didn't show her passing away as the last scene of the drama. The scenes of San still longing and grieving for her years later says so much. He first asked her to be his concubine when she was 14/15 and later again when she was 30. He waited 15 years for her. After she passed away he wrote an entire epitaph for her which is unusual for a King to do it for his concubine. He was known to be a King that never expressed much. Still he did not hold himself back from writing about her. ‘I used to smile while looking at you, but now there is only silence inside the palace.’
Ultimately the drama ends on a sad note just like the history. They were in terrible agony for years. Sad that all they wanted was to be beside each other.
Much much praise for Lee Junho and Lee Seyoung's acting. I can't have the thought of anyone else possibly taking up their rol
such a cute ass show didn't expected it to be so wholesome mostly I lose interest and attention when the leads starts dating but maybe because of the limited episodes they cut the prolonged drama scenes hence this is worth your time!!!
