To be fair she didn't let him have a child, he just showed up with the baby. Basically he asked for forgiveness rather than permission. The brother has no excuse for the way he is acting, but i think the mom is acting this way because she still thinks it's viable to prevent YD from being a single mom. Once hope ran out, im pretty sure she would come around. The emotional blackmail is definitely intense and wrong, but i think ultimately she would be on YDs side in the end.

I know what you mean, but TK asking YD to marry him is a huge ask of her. I know he did it to help her, but him "confessing" to being the babies father, made the situation much more complicated. She probably would have had to tell her ex that it's his baby, she is not getting an abortion and she wants nothing to do with him and told her mom that she caught her ex cheating on her. Im sure her mom would eventually come around to her decision. Mom is going crazy partially because she thinks it's a viable option for YD to get married to the baby's father.
