I just finished watching the movie and I agree with you. I gave it an 8 for the acting and battle scenes, would have given a 9 if it was explained why the North Koreans attacked in the movie. I have to believe after all these years the director could have found out the reason for the attack and included that in the dialog of the film. I read the link you provided, so the North Koreans were just pressing a point that the NLL wasn't the real boundary...at least mention that in the movie.
