yes i agree w u so much!! this story is actually quite well written, the characters have emotional depth and there are plenty of good messages in the story. The more i watch the more I am enjoying this, a slow-burn gem.

this is MDL so usually ratings tend to be biased, as this drama is slightly more old style xianxia which isnt the most popular style on MDL bc people here seem to love big exaggerated stories and designs etc, sometimes regardless of acting. Saw a comment somewhere say that on actual chinese websites and social media this drama is actually rated very well by cnetizens, so its funny to see the diff between international audiences vs mainland audience. Me personally im rlly enjoying this drama i love both the actors and the script is actually well written, so ignore the MDL rating plus ratings are rarely ever great/stable while dramas are airing
