The plot was really interesting. Unfortunately, for me, it was treated shallowly and superficially. The script was badly written, even the best actors wouldn't get it to a good level. The main leads was so badly matched, the chemistry between them was at a zero level. It was so tiring to watch their "love". The character of MaHa is irritating. In general, actress Jung JiSo has something irritating in her acting, that in every movie or series in which she plays I rewind scenes with her. From the characters playing only the manager JiHak and RiAh, maybe La RiMa were ok. I have the impression that Imitation has such good reviews because idols from Ateez and SF9 play there. Otherwise, I can't explain the phenomenon of this series. On the plus side - I liked their duo songs and the ending song.
Warning for new comers.IF YOU LOVE GOBLIN - GO AHEAD. WATCH THIS.IF YOU WATCH GOBLIN AND IN YOUR OPINION THAT'S…
I don't agree with you. For me, Goblin was average. But Bulgasal is in the top three of my favorite series. And I can't see any similarities between Goblin and Bulgasal. These are two completely different series with different plots
This is one of the best kdrama I've ever watched (it's in the top three of my favorites). Drama is incredibly addictive, I've waited for each new episode.
Acting was at a really good level, I have the impression that each of the actors was perfectly matched to the role they played (and Lee Joon should get an Oscar for the best villain in the history of dramas). Wonderful soundtrack, one of the best I've heard, perfectly matched to each scene, making each scene feel more intense. Photos and editing are also great, especially those from 1000 and 600 years ago.
Unfortunately, they didn't answer a few puzzles from the drama, which is a pity because I've waited until the very end to get some answers. Besides, the series is very stretched with repetitive situations, and the last 2 episodes are running fast to finish.
Last episode "killed" me emotionally, and I think I won't find anything as good that I would like to watch in the nearest future.
I thought this drama was amazing. Completely different than other rom com dramas. Each episode was fascinating. But the ending for me was cheesy (he is going abroad, she is waiting for him and of course he comes back and says he loves her). Last episode spoiled my view of the show as a whole. I had higher expectations as for the ending.
After watching in ep.16 what happend 1000 years ago I think Bulgalady didn't love Bulgasal 1000 years ago. If she loved him, she wouldn't abandon him for people or at least come back to tell him that she wants to take care of the children until they grow up. And so she left him and even when he came to save her, she treated him as the greatest enemy. Then 600 years ago, she protects him. Then again, when he is grown up, she turns him into Bulgasal. I think that the ending of this story, as well as the whole story, was not well written. There are too many understatements and unsolved mysteries.
Even though all actors played great, I feel it could have been a better story if it was better written. And unlike most people, I don't know why, but Siho irritated me from the beginnig till the end of the story.
I’m not entirely satisfied with the ending. I thought that Hwal and Sang Un will become bulgasals and live together, and Eul Tae will come back to being human and pay for everything he has done. It's a pity, because I would like this ending more.
Throughout the story, I haven't found answers to a few puzzles:
1. why Bulgalady decided to turn Hwal back into Bulgasal 600 years ago exactly when Ok Eul Tae killed his wife and son. She could have changed him much earlier, because she knew he had been reborn as a human. And why she protected him earlier.
2. How did Bulgalady know that Mr. Bulgasal died as a human and was reborn? She didn't know that Ok Eul Tae had become a bulgasal and in ep. 16 Eul Tae told Hwal in the cave that Bulgalady didn’t know that he died as a human and she was waiting for him all the time.
3. In general, I think the story of Bulgalady, Eul Tae and Hwal from 600 years has not been clarified. What happened the day Eul Tae killed the Hwal family.
4. Where did SiHo's power to read souls come from? She was only human. And what for was her power when it never helped Hwal or Sang Un in any way?
Besides, why Hwal apologizes in the end. He was the one who was abandoned by Bulgalady. She didn't tell him anything, she just left. Then from the village of people she looked at the mountains, saying in her mind that she hadn’t left him and that she would be back when the children grew up - WTF ... after all, he could not hear her thoughts being so far away. And he had been waiting for her for so long. And when he came to save her from people, she stabbed him first, and then when they attacked him, she decided to kill them both. I completely don't understand how Bulgalady works. At the very end of their unfortunate story, he has to sacrifice himself and be punished with death, even though he has suffered for 1000 years and all that happened 1,000 years ago and then 600 years ago, was because Bulgalady left him.
Despite these understatements, I rate the series 10/10. I haven't watched such a good Korean fantasy series so far.
Unfortunately, the dramas of the end of 2021 that I was addicted to: Bulgasal: Immortal Souls and Red Sleeve Cuff don’t have happy endings and each of them killed me emotionally.

1. Who sent to the reborn Sang Un a photo of Hwal's house where they lived on their previous life?
2. How did Hwal come out of the well?
3. How was Hwal reborned if bulgasal can't be reborn?
4. How did Sang Un know where was the cave where Hwal and Eul Tae had the last fight?
