when i first watched this , i was a bit sad and disappointed with lan zhan. Because seemingly he was too cold towards wei ying . he wasn't 100 % wei ying's side or supported him as much as i wanted. (at that time , i was so heart broken for wei ying : i couldn't see other things clearly. All i wanted to see was some one to give poor wei wuxian a much needed hug ) How naive of me to think about wangji like that...! after going through everything related to the "The untamed" , i realized how precious lan wangji truly is...! (kudos to yibo - he was born for this role ) Knowing he had been suffering for so many years with his non expressed one sided feelings and he has to wait for 13 years with broken soul until their reunion : I couldn't help feeling; Lan zhan is someone who has to be protected at any cost. Wei wuxian always took care others without worrying about his self. It was only lan zhan who cared about Wei ying's well being and his heart.
As i re-watched this drama for 3rd time i feel like , how much scheming person Nie Huai Sang could have been, i don't care if he is good or bad ! i will forever be grateful to him on behalf of Lan zhan . He literally brought back Lan zhan' life.
After all Lan zhan went thought , every single smile bloomed on lan zhan's face screams that everything else doesn't matter. Screw the world & who cares about right and wrong! nothing matters. he got his wwx back. that's the only thing counts.
A long awaited drama adaptation. I am very grateful to all the production and crew members for making this drama in such a amazing way! Specially Allen and Bai lu ; they really brought the characters to life. they did such a fantastic job beyond one would expect .

How many farewell should we go through before my heart shattered beyond repair - Viewers .... brace yourself ! Anyway, Allen is such a delight to the eyes in the costumes. He's made for this kind of roles and costumed dramas. Well picked ! After "One and Only", it feels very rewarding. Dilraba - as always she sparks as a goddess!! The way these two projected their respective roles is very well done! It is pleasant to see their nuanced acting skills and micro-expressions.- A true Feast!
it's sad that other 2 second couples stories are more interesting than the male lead's scenes.
I never understand Ms.Xue 's enmity towards Wei Qing. why is she so hell bend on making his life miserable , even scheming to separate him from FL ? was it all are only for the business gain ? unclear ! i had a headache while trying to see through her motives. After they all went through so much misery caused by her , she was left alone just like that at the end : only to let her scheme again with her evil brother , i mean ...... really?
i also could not understand why FL blow up big , whenever she discover ML did something behind her back , when she also does the same as him ? In this regard i appreciate Bi Qiu Jing . her story line is very well done. The way her brain works and the way she handling things are so enjoyable to watch.
It was a beautiful drama. but when it ended, i was a mess ;sobbing my eyes out . it hit me very hard . it was only for Xiao Zhan i went through this . Was it worth it ? YES!
The drama was good except for the last 4 episodes. my only wishes are if only the fl had not been dumb and the ml could have been a bit more honest in the 2nd half.
I have been hesitating to watch this for years and when I finally picked up, I didn't click with the drama at first. But then, I don't know how .......I don't know when.... but I am addicted.

I really felt bad for the ML. he has been so devoted to the FL while she has been stupidly dwelling on the 2nd male lead for more than 30 ep. too much episodes are wasted. Even the main leads are super cute and got great Chemistry as bickering friends; god damn it, we only got 2 ep of them as a couple. I am telling you; FL does not deserve ML or neither the viewers deserve this kind of rushed ending.
As a big fan of the book for years, I waited so long for this drama. Now, all I can say is, unexpectedly, I really loved the season 1 despite the sad ending. (I normally don't watch dramas with sad endings ) As for the modern time period, so many things messed up the Season 2 for me.Starting from the reincarnation ban. As a viewer we see the Zhou Sheng Chen through the eyes of Shi Yi. When she sees him at the airport, she knows exactly who he is. (So, trough out the whole story he had an invisible majestic feel around him for me) Since that element is missing, I had a hard time for connecting with the drama. In the S1 he looked so majestic and intimidating. But in the modern time his character is a bit disappointing. Because in the novel he is a very capable (Ex. he kinda had the ability to change the nationality of someone with a snap and things like that). Somehow here he doesn't look like that. Anyway, these are my personal opinions.Apart from all of these, two seasons are really very good. I really liked the modern day water city, ancient costume designs, fantastic acting from the main leads and the production. You can give these a try. Worth it!
