Let me tell you about my personal experience, There are a lot of chinese dramas that I hesitate because of Negative comment, but when I watched them, I was like 'OMG that was amazing'.
There is a fact about Cdramas, that they are not everyone's cup of tea, so there are a lot of thousand negative review and comment about them. That's why I decided to start Cdramas without reading comments, it helps me to enjoy them a lot, and don't miss great dramas because of negative comment.
I think you can just watch a few episode, then decide about it, so you won't miss amazing cdramas.
I talked a lot, it was just my personal opinion, I hope it can help you.

I finished The king's woman. I like it, there are a lot of negative comment about it, but since the story was based on real character in history, I think it was good. and the ending was completely match the whole drama. The best character is second male lead,amazing.
About General & I, I didn't finish it yet, but it starts good, forced marriage and an ex-lover,The ML is so good and FL is smart, but I have to watch more to decide if it's a good one or not.

Funny drama, even sometimes it was weird, but still I enjoy it. It's a light and not serious drama. I liked the alternative ending more, since original ending didn't fit with the drama.
