I like the male lead a lot, but as always in female-centric shows, he's just there standing by the fl's side, supporting her and that's it. What do we know of his story? Nothing. He's like a lifeless doll just there to be by the female lead's side. I hope that with the ending of ep 10 where he spits blood, that we'll find out more about him in the next episodes.
why are the first male leads in korean historical dramas always pretty flower boys, and the charming manly men are the unwanted second male leads... It's obvious korean women's preferences differ a whole lot from western ones π
Male lead is mediocre actor with limited facial expressions and not that handsome either. Not that that matters…
I think it's still too early to determine that, this show is female-centric after all, of course we don't see much of the ML. I'm hoping to see more facets of his character, it is true that so far his character is kinda boring. He is supposed to come over as a mysterious person, it doesn't come over like that at all. The flaw lies with the storywriting rather than the actor himself.
people really saw this woman beating, starving and imprisoning her daughter and concluded that she was trying…
it's always the same thing in cdramas, cruel parents apologist propaganda, showcasing that the parents "have their reasons" for being so cruel, that it's all for the "good of their children". So toxic.
this drama speaks volumes on acting every one is just great π each carrying their respective roles perfectly
especially the mother of hanyan, her performance was so good! I think it might've been the first time I was so captivated by the acting skills in a chinese show... β¨
Every time I see this actress I roll my eyes bc I know her acting finna be stiff, but I still overcome my prejudice and give her a chance, and every time she makes me regret giving her a chance cuz this woman can't act even if her life depended on it ππ
Made an account just to say this show sucks. Doesn't even come close to how good the novel is. And I know I know I shouldn't compare, and I don't care if they adapt it exactly as the novel or they deviate from the plot, but this is not a matter of is it being accurate or not, this is a matter of the show just objectively being bad, the storytelling, the characters, everything. In the novel each character had depth and was relatable, this show just ruined everything. I hate this show with a passion, so much so, I had to make an account just to say this π
What do we know of his story? Nothing. He's like a lifeless doll just there to be by the female lead's side.
I hope that with the ending of ep 10 where he spits blood, that we'll find out more about him in the next episodes.
