I didn't find this "Secret" as great as the one rave review here on MDL and the many comments on YT. Wide-faced Kaleb and David were trying, but everything felt stilted, fast. It's as if the creators said ... well, now we'll make a short that will impress everyone. It did not move me precisely because of its speed, simplicity and purposefulness. I was only surprised by a slightly above-average Pinoy movie with quite pleasant music.

This series is very good

I can say for myself that this series is very good and it can't be affected even by the sudden ending, which the audience probably won't expect (I can't reveal more) and many may be disappointed if the viewer doesn't understand what the creators wanted to imply. Very good acting performances by both boys, especially Porsche (real name Karn), when at the age of 18 he handled this adult role perfectly (at the beginning and at the end he plays a professor at the university, where he addresses issues of the LGBT community in lectures with students). In addition, both main actors are beautiful and masculine (the second of the pair - Nueng was five years older than Porsche at the time of filming - 23 years old). They are not students walking slowly through the school corridors with affine hair on their heads, cut according to a pot. I was also impressed by the processing. It was not so slow by Thai standards, the school is less concerned, in the second half we find ourselves in the countryside around the capital of northern Thailand - Chiang Mai and on an elephant farm owned by Nueng's parents. I don't mind that there is not so much physical contact between the main characters (apart from the "rape" of Porsche by a foreign attacker), the series is about two friends and their journey to love each other, and I see the meaning in that love WITHOUT BOUNDARIES and TIME, as opposed to the fate of each individual (I would probably understand the "strange" ending here). The music is pleasant, the overall impression is sadly romantic ... and six years later, both main actors played the main role in the mystical series Dear Doctor, I'm Coming for Soul ... !!!

Above average series

This Thai project pleasantly caressed my soul and even though it was not completely perfect, it left a small mark on me. The story is interesting, the acting is good, the music is great in the last parts of some scenes (I don't mean the opening song). And now he has a subtle critique. The main pair of Tawan-Mork, in addition to looking very good, said it nicely, the "something" there was felt, but physically worth the old white and their "kisses" behind the foul word, the director is apparently blind and deaf. The second pair of Toy-Boss was completely artificial for me, even though the ending was too sweet. As a senior doctor, Boss didn't sit well with me, he was too young (20), while his "trainee" Toy, who was studying with him, was actually 28 years old, and his make-up was further enhanced by combing a tall "helmet" from his hair, so he looked like wax doll from the Madame Tussauds Museum. Here, with this pair, the creators did not come across a choice of actors and the types they played. In the hetero pair, I enjoyed the symposium barista Mayom, who is really a doctor in civilian clothes, so it's funny to me that a 20-year-old boy plays an experienced doctor and a real doctor plays a hopscotch in a café. In this context, I was probably best impressed by the two older uncles in supporting roles, who played a great relationship with them for many years.

A pleasant experience

This time my review will be a bit longer, but those who know me and write to me many times on gaytitulky.info, where the series is translated into CZ, will surely forgive me.
This is one of those really good mystery series connected with the Thai branch of Buddhism, it surprised me because after the first episode I had no idea what would happen next, because the original described plot took place in the first episode and I didn't like the main characters either. Apparently, the same process took place inside me while watching, as with many viewers, because the increase in ratings from the first episodes to the end is not typical, it usually decreases (IMDb from 7.2 to 8.3 and MDL from 8.0 to 8.5) and I found my way to two the main performers and I started to like them a lot, both as characters and as actors. Well, if I look at San (Daou), how he looks at MDL in civilian clothes, maybe it's not him either, I don't want that! 🤣 I've gotten used to it and I love the look of the "old man" with old-fashioned clothes and short pants, the creators did a good job with that. Not to mention Ponda (Third), I already love this little girl from the 180 Degree series ... And even the great-great-granddaughter Ju was really great, one of the few "normal" female characters in BL projects, otherwise we mostly meet scumbags, extra bushes, or is the character scared, affected or annoying. All of them, including Ton and Tao, convinced me that in the end I gave the acting performances not a nine, which I originally thought, but a ten, despite the slightly grinning "rat" Rat. The overall concept, the story, the actors, the music, all of this completely prevailed in my assessment, and this is not affected even by the not completely 100% processing, which can be partially excused by the fact that the creators had to fit into a very limited budget (battles, shooting games and red marmalade or raspberry juice, treadmill, etc. and at the climax of the last episode we had to watch Tao brushing his teeth with superpaste). But what I can't forgive, and it shouldn't affect the budget, and many viewers will forgive even this under the overall impression, are the two Asian "falls" in the first part and in the last one, when Wat holds the stone in his pretty feminine fingers and in the close-up in the shot, it is held by a man's fingers (apparently this omitted scene was recorded by directors Wo and MI themselves), I thought they were going to limit me, I've already seen it in some other series, I'd kick someone from the crew for that, and I'm reducing it by two whole rating points for processing.

I didn't find a mistake there, everything fit as it should. In the beginning, two actors in their twenties who look even younger and lo and behold, one is 27 and the other is 32. I enjoy the intimate intimate concept if done well and the sing-along Korean and all enhanced by the soft background music and slow non-violent processing, even though you iced teas, which no character ever even touched ... and when the fourth character - the handsome prince - came in the second half, it was swept away, however it might have ended. I guess I'm different (yes, I am), I just have a different opinion than most on IMDb and MDL.

In the world of men who like men, there is a certain subset of those who are slightly twisted, very twisted, effeminate, they are also called aunties in the Czech Republic and in other ways, I am not referring to another group of those who are transvestites or a group of transsexuals . And the main character Bew (actor Mark Chutawuth) also belongs to this group of aunts, and I thought right at the beginning hmm ... that's not going to be for me, that's a group of people I'm not looking for. But Mark, who from now on I refer to as Mr. Actor, led me astray and was so funny and together with the character of the girl Note, but also with the elderly aunt at work (he was even married and the wife didn't mind 🤣) together with the creators according to the real they set up the story so well, lightheartedly, gently and with nobility, that I had fun many times, especially in the second episode. How Mark, who isn't actually gay or an aunt, was able to play it is unbelievable. The story as such is not that complicated and it is true that there are many aunties in the field of modeling, design, makeup, etc., but overall everything was presented very casually to the fact that society in practically all countries is still very cruel to sexual minorities. Mostly in this field of film projects I encounter exaggeration, piquancy, grimaces, mockery, both in Western productions and in Assisi, which is why I end up appreciating this Club Friday season 10 series a lot. And in addition, my Darling actor Jam from To Sir With Love and Laws of Attraction will also appear in one of the episodes...

No teenage boys with lids up to their eyes or yaoi flip flops screaming in admiration. This is a short series for adults, from life, and it is well done, at least for me. Bisexuality, bisexual behavior and related problems. I really, really liked the series because it touches so many of us. Specifically me for sure. Excellent acting, especially Tod played it so convincingly, I believed every word he said and his character clearly proved that not all gays, bisexuals, have to be outright twisted or immediately recognizable. The other two characters also played it flawlessly. How 35-year-old Tony at the time (he played the character of Meng) and I was amazed how great he looked in the first part in the "studio" days, you don't know at all that he is already "so" old and the corpse Nuch, played excellently by Thai Bebe, is also no more sapling, and in some scenes it not only cut her off immensely (see e.g. the wedding and others). The director is really a fighter, everything we have from him here at gaytitulky.info is highly rated (Club Friday 5, Club Friday 12, Tonhon Chonlatee).

I absolutely cannot agree with the appalling review and rating of "paulasmess", where her disagreement with the story was punished with the lowest rating for acting and music. Where did she put her eyes and hearing (???)? She has no idea that bisexuality and labels exist, such as if a man in a relationship with a woman has something with a man, then he is immediately gay and the opposite does not apply (?) when a man in a relationship with a man has something with a woman - so why is it not heterosexual.

The TV adaptation of this series exactly corresponded to the Thai mentality. Pretty faces and, to top it off, relationships that begin to interweave into hard-to-predict (even downright monstrous) dimensions between three men and one woman. Finally ... what could we expect from the director of such gems as Club Friday 5 or Tonhon Chonlatee. And everything in addition according to the real event. The last episode was such a little bomb, when everything starts to become clear, even with the help of slaps and kicks, and each of the characters gets something for it... Nice and a little bit funny experience.

TV zpracování tohoto seriálku přesně odpovídalo thajské mentalitě. Hezké tvářičky a k tomu vztahy, které se začínají proplétat do těžko předvídatelných (ba přímo obludných) rozměrů mezi třemi muži a jednou ženou. Nakonec ... co bychom mohli očekávat od režiséra takových skvostů, jako je Club Friday 5 a nebo Tonhon Chonlatee. A vše navíc podle skutečné události. Poslední epizoda byla taková malá bomba, kdy se začíná vše vyjasňovat, i za pomocí facek a kopanců a každá z postav dostane co proto ... Pěkný a trošku i úsměvný zážitek.

I had a lot of fun with this Filipino musical, even with how seriously some Asians writing reviews on MDL took it (while the project has a high rating on IMDb). Those who like any project with Asian naivety, rudeness, affectation and full of grinning trances, pause here, how terrible it was. At the same time, it is a gay musical fairy tale for young and old gays and not only those, and those who take it with an open mind will have fun with really beautiful songs, but also with the set and all refreshed by the main roles - 18-year-old Prince Zeyn and 19-year-old Mikey, and sorry all flaws. At all, as if this project didn't even come from the Philippines, it's so different ... The musical is primarily about the songs, and only then about the acting, they sang it beautifully and refreshed it with a pleasant sympathetic appearance. Their mothers and then Angel, Ms.Becky and others also added theirs. And in the last quarter of the last part, I grabbed my stomach at the scenes with bananas, stargazing or the speech of the new king in front of a "crowd" of subjects. Yes, the 3rd and 4th parts took a little away from the drama, but that doesn't change the fact that I was refreshed and wasn't looking for any fly in the project.


Moc jsem se u tohoto filipínského muzikálu pobavil, a to i tím, jak vážně jej někteří Asiaté píšící recenze na MDL vzali (přitom na IMDb má tento projekt vysoké hodnocení). Ti, kterým se líbí kdejaké projekty s asijskou naivitou, toporností, afektem a plné šklebících se transek, se tady pozastavují, jak to bylo hrozné. Přitom se jedná o gay muzikálovou pohádku pro malé i velké gaye a nejen ty a kdo ji bere s nadhledem, tak se pobaví opravdu krásnými písněmi, ale i výpravou a vše osvěženo hlavními rolemi - 18ti letým princem Zeynem a 19ti letým Mikey-em a promine všechny nedostatky. Vůbec, jakoby tento projekt nepocházel ani z Filipín, je tak hodně jiný ... U muzikálu jde především o písně, a teprve potom o hraní, zazpívali to krásně a osvěžili to příjemným sympatickým zjevem. Jejich matky a dále Angel, Ms.Becky a další také přidali to své. A v poslední čtvrtině posledního dílu jsem se za břicho popadal u scén s banány, pozorováním hvězd a nebo projevem nového krále před "davem" poddaných. Ano, 3.a 4. díl malinko ubral na dramatičnosti, ale to nic nemění na tom, že jsem se osvěžil a v projektu nehledal kdejakou mouchu.

Perhaps the director was enlightened by the Holy Spirit, otherwise I can't explain it after the near-flop called Skinship, where both actors also appear. I think it was a collective shift of the entire crew, the production, a radical cut, and episode zero was released into the world, which in my opinion has all the best attributes, even if the story itself has already been used elsewhere. Suddenly there is incredible chemistry between the actors, everything fits together, great music (not mostly Thai, but world music is used, especially the ending complements the ending beautifully) and I can only look forward to the series itself (unless, of course, the creators screw it up...)


Režiséra snad osvítil Duch Svatý, jinak si to nedokážu vysvětlit po téměř propadáku jménem Skinship, kde oba herci rovněž vystupují. Myslím, že to byl ale kolektivní posun celého štábu, produkce, radikální řez a na svět se vyloupla nultá epizoda, která dle mě má samé skvělé přívlastky, i když příběh samotný už byl jinde použit. Najednou je mezi herci neskutečná chemie, vše do sebe zapadá, skvělá hudba (není vesměs použita thajská, ale světová, hlavně ten konec krásně doplňuje) a už se mohu jen těšit na samotný seriál (pokud to ovšem tvůrci nepokazí ...)

Mame (a Thai writer) got her act together (or rather "poMamila") and wrote another fairy tale from a wealthy background, which fully accepts, for example, the fact that both brothers are ultimately gay (I also know such in the Czech Republic). And now seriously. When I think about all the fairy tales, the story turned out to be engaging for me, a little weepy for my taste, but the central couple (calmness, prudence vs. distraction, cuteness) made up for it all to the highest possible extent. I also appreciate the fact that the story didn't get bogged down in walking through the school corridors, didn't branch out pointlessly, and from a physical point of view, it's no longer just a hand grab or a light fishy kiss at the end of the series. Everything is much more mature. Of the other characters, I was particularly interested in brother Leon. On the other hand, Pob, whom Leon applied for, where did they dig ... 8 years older than Leon, two years older than the director himself, no acting experience, in reality Pob looks ok (see civilian on MDL), but how they made him combing that hair and that uninteresting face. "Dads" - they have already played in many such series, so familiar faces. The music is excellent (appropriately chosen for the more titillating scenes). Great satisfaction for me.

Another Japanese film that arouses rather condemnation from a large part of the audience who do not understand its meaning, why it was made and for whom. Sex, hard sex, forced sex, rape. These are all the elements of yaoi manga as Japanese girls and women have gradually forced them over many decades, or better said, this is how the rules that Japanese women like have been determined. It is not worth wondering why in the film the rape is not even followed by condemnation of others. The only thing that bothered me a bit was that Yuuki (Takasaki Shota, the still cute actor after nine years), the concertmaster, couldn't actually play the violin, even by mistake.


Další japonský snímek, který vzbuzuje spíše odsouzení u velké části diváků, kteří nechápou jeho smysl, proč byl vyroben a pro koho. Sex, tvrdý sex, vynucovaný sex, znásilnění. To jsou všechno prvky yaoi mangy tak, jak si je v průběhu mnoha desetiletí postupně japonské dívky a ženy vynutily, nebo lépe řečeno, takto byla určena pravidla, která se Japonkám líbí. Nemá cenu se divit, proč ve filmu po znásilnění ani nenásleduje odsouzení druhých. Jediné, co mi trošku vadilo bylo to, že Yuuki (i po devíti letech stále roztomilý herec Takasaki Shota), koncertní mistr, neuměl ve skutečnosti hrát na housle ani omylem.
