so he starts acting like a child (because of how his body and spirit took damaging way too many times) and then ep 27 - 31 is when they work together and 31 is when he stops being a child.

So the biggest plot twist/lie in the beginning is that the girl who seems innocent is actually the ml previous lover who turned on him into his enemy. The second plot twist is that the ml finds out why she hates him so much which is because he killed his child (even tho not directly, he is the main cause here). They eventually understand each other and fight side by side once again.

There are a few different misunderstandings in this (I can tell as spoiler if u don't mind). At the start too it starts as a regular xianxia/wuxia but turns a bit more darker. I can tell in spoilers for detail if u don't mind tho :)

Honestly, it doesn't get that bad but it depends on the types of dramas you like. This one is really dramatic with the storyline but it still kept me entertained all the way through. Again though, it depends if you like a hardcore, sad relationship, sad-ish ending to it. Hope it eventually finds a place in your heart thought as it did in mine!
