Haha i dont think they are watchable in terms of quality. Im not sure cos one of the few i watched was probably Journey to the West too as a kid. And some gong li movies like Qiu Ju.
But comparing the industry just 10 to 15 years ago, it is a LOT more conservative now.

I watched up to epi 20 past night and it was disturbing and intense. The scene where geng yutian(?) discovered the corpse was so saddd... 😭😭😭 and when the daughter threatened to severe ties with her mom, her mom still replied that shes her baobei. I almost cried there..
I think it differs from the usual crime dramas in that it is neither realistic nor scientific. Hahaha i had those expectation in S1 and couldn't really get into the show. SY was like psychic.. Now i just ignore all that and actually enjoyed this season better.
I still have 8 episodes to go and not sure if it will go down. I read some spoilers on weibo already. 🤔

For me it was Go East. The story and esp the FL were really quite disappointing. It was probably due to coming off LYF and i had high expectations of tjcs drama. Hahaha

Wow. They seemed to have lightened up on the costumes. The ones i saw earlier were so overdone. Hope the drama is good!! I havent seen zhen ni and eddy since TTEOTM.

22. JOL2. After waiting so long, it didnt disappoint me. However the episodes went by so fast i couldnt believe it was over!
23. Not exactly innovative, but the first 2 episodes of LGIEF were a bit unexpected, esp when the FL dies after being struck by lightning and she goes on repeat mode to clear the "level". Hahaha ive read plenty of that in novels but not watched in a drama.
24. Fof costumes for the monkey and tree demons. Im a sucker for long dark robes. 😛
