Modern dramas are useful for learning. But i really much prefer costume dramas. They are way more interesting. I'm the same as ur friend! I'm also cantonese. 😄 Looks like u will learn really fast cos of drama and friend.

I like mainstream/idol dramas cos of the eye candy. Of cos I can't accept if the acting is too bad also. 🤣🤣🤣 If the leads are not attractive enough, I have a hard time finishing the drama.

I get that when there is only 1 character in the name, they say in full with the surname. ie TT Jin. I also address my friends like that. But not when there are 2 characters. It sounds like scolding. 😅😅 maybe thats the way in cn

LYT has the looks but I heard she is going for the more acting based dramas rather than idol type. She chooses her scripts carefully. However, she is appearing more in idol dramas now. I hope she continues in this direction cos I don't usually watch the others. Hahaha

Yes costume dramas especially those historical ones use a lot of 文言文which is classical chinese. Most people don't understand it either. Or they just understand bits of it.. Dont worry. 😂😂 When dramas get to those parts, I really want english subs! What got u into learning it? 😊
