The story is very confusing. We can't blame one side forever.

Before the drama was released, when the posters came out, I initially thought Bai Jiu Si tortured Ru Yue, and then Qing Yue took revenge on him. But after watching episode 10, I understand that Bai Jiu Si suspected Qing Yue was actually Ru Yue, so he chained her up and tortured her with lightning.
