Thank you for writing this review. It helped me sort out my thoughts because I just finished it. I mostly agree about what you've said and made me realize I'm not the only one who felt something's off with Yu and Ai's relationship. When Yu said to Ai's former tutor and lover that if she's the sun, he should have been the dark night, it didn't feel right to me because Ai was a toxic lover. It's not the tutor's fault he ran away when she's being too much. Like you, what really made me finish it though it's quite draggy a bit, are the other girls. I got so emotional about each of their problems and cried when Masshiro chose to end herself. There's really something wrong with the juvenile facility. Although it's not entirely their fault, they could have done better to save another human life.
Shimobee is totally a must watch! It's a fun, heartwarming series that will inspire and encourage you to be the best that you can be. It will make you believe in yourself and your own potential. It will prove to you that miracles can be created! I really love it so much. I will surely miss Shimobee, Yurina, and the rest of the characters. 😭❤
