i highly doubt it, again like i said we’ve seen dramas where the male lead an have heavier makeup than he had in this. its so strange that chinese netizens jumped on this bandwagon for this particular drama right when its at its peak. if they had anythingggg else to criticize like how his character was sidelined for the female lead to have more screen time, i would understand. but talking about his makeup is just ridiculous

why is it that his portrayal of a general in this particular drama set off all the discourse when he and many other male actors have had other dramas with heavier make up and also dramas with little to no makeup? it seems to me that they’re looking for anything to criticize just because he’s gained more international attention with this drama which means more attention is going to be focused to this type of drama or his dramas overall. its horrendously hypocritical when all they couldve said was “its great that people loved his performance so much in this drama, we hope they also like the dramas that arent costume or makeup heavy”

i think dunk has to really work on his acting. its been years and he still acts so stiff in comparison to joong? maybe they should get them to do more workshops or let them be 2nd or 3rd lead cp for a few dramas where he doesnt constantly have the camera on him because that overconciousness makes his performance fall flat when his partner is trying to give his best to save their chemistry.
