This drama was -okay-... nothing fantastic but also not terrible. The original was better BUT I found I got frustrated…
This is a really good description of this drama. I wholeheartedly agree. If you also do not compare it to the Chinese original, it is a decent, cute drama.
"WHEN LIFE HITS YOU ROCK BOTTOM HARD, THERE IS NO WAY BUT TO GO UP"It has been a long time since I truly enjoyed…
I am not good with words, but I wanted to express how I feel about The One and Only. Your words said what was on my mind! Well spoken and accurately depicted. I don't need to express my own words since you took them out of my mouth ^^
All in all, definitely worth a watch! It's not often we get to see a drama where the main leads aren't "perfect and pure" individuals. Gu Ae Jin played by Shim Dal Gi was just terrific acting. I ended up cheering for her, even though she isn't that "good" person we usually see.
If anyone knows the song at the end credits (I don't remember if it was anywhere else but the final ep credits) please let me know!
Me: "There is a Swede in this?! This could be fun!" Also me: "His name is Hans... I have a bad feeling about this".
I really hope he won't be portrayed as the stereotypical (and frankly false) image of a Swede, a la Tall Girl. My gut has a bad feeling, but I hope to be proven wrong.
Same goes for all the other characters with other nationalities here, let's not get this wrong! *prays to writer-nim*
You know what? if you didn't like the drama and have dropped it then Why would you need convincing to start them…
This! Just look at my On-Hold list, and no one would ever feel bad again for not being able to continue a drama (spoiler: it has almost 100 dramas in it)!
Also, was anyone else confused with what to feel at the end of ep.12? Should I be mad that Yoo was deceiving everyone…
Ah yes, you might be on the right track there, with the whole him wanting people to dig deeper into this whole subject by doing what he did to Minah. Since they have asked a few times "Why did the criminal leave the victim alive?" in the drama, and how she was left in a place where he knew those youngsters usually go and chill, it might be a good theory that Yoon wanted someone to find her like this.
The problem with remakes in my eyes is if the remade work copies the exact same scenes as we've already seen in the original, with little to none difference. An example of this is You're Beautiful. Now, I haven't seen the Japanese version, but the Taiwanese version was almost like watching the original, but the only difference being the language spoken (and other cultural aspects).
If I'm gonna enjoy a remake of something, it will not be a work that is a 90% - 100% copy of the original. Because that is as if they don't care about their product enough. A good remake makes you feel like you're watching the original, but with a new experience and *new content*. So the feeling and the overall concept is there, but your eyes feed on something new and fresh.
I really appreciate seeing this article here on the site and appreciating even more that you took your time to make it! Will be waiting for part 2. Also really fancied that you put quotes from these dramas and movies in.
Uee. The second lead from chief kim and memory. I think he is an idol but great actor. Yoon eun hye is an idol?!!…
I feel you, Panda. Uee.
I was shocked the first time I heard about YEH being an idol as well. Bless us for having her in the acting department instead. I miss this lady.
Besides the SLS we ALL had in School 2015, other worthy mentions for me are with Lee Ki Woo in Flower Boy Ramyun Shop (he was the definition of adorable) and Moon Chae Won in Painter of the Wind (a female second lead who has incredible chemistry with the FEMALE LEAD? Oh yes).
A KNG stalkers guide was indeed very needed! This man is just superb, both in his acting and him as a person. In QSD, I can't even recall the amount of feelings I had for Bidam. I liked him, disliked him, pitied him, wanted him to die in a pit etc etc. And Bad Guy is one of those dramas that I personally really digged... You know, except for the ending. His character is unlike anyone I've ever seen in dramaland and the drama itself was very poetic.
Your article is really good, I was almost going to review some scenes while reading this.. :) But you forgot to…
Thank you!^^ I wanted to write about So Hee's brother, but felt the article would be a bit too long (as if it isn't already haha), he's just the most lovable guy, really! And gosh yes, that last chase scene was just brilliant!
This was a beautifully written article (and to think it was your first!) I really enjoyed reading this. I'm…
Thank you for your compliment~ I was a little touched tbh^^ You make very good points! M9 certainly is a fruit not everyone would enjoy. I kind of miss watching them roam around on the island as well, its highlights was definitely while on the island.
I am also really enjoying this show a ton! I can't recommend it enough and don't really know why it…
I think some people are annoyed by details in the writing. I kind of understand them, but I don't feel the same way at all. And yes! When I first heard this OST I was completely mesmerized. It fits the theme of M9 so well.
