There were so many absolutely 10 points reviews here that made me dragged myself through the whole drama, but it was truly a scattered mess decorated with petty teenagers villains with unclear motives.
I have to log in to upvote your review, which is probably the best thing that comes from this drama. Thanks for writing it better than I ever could.
lol i actually wanna add miss the dragon to the recommendations. but i guess we should all pretend like it doesn't…
Yeah, Dylan was not himself in that drama. I was thinking"What a terrible actor", then I realised he was only 21 or something when filming that one. This boy has a lot ahead of him, already improving so much since.
On episode 8 right now and having major second lead syndrome. Also, is it just me or the second lead resembles…
The SML Zhang Linghe is awesome as the ML in Maiden Holmes and Flourish in time. The hottest CDrama kisses ever must be the ones in Maiden Holmes. If you want to have a look, google Maiden Holmes carriage kiss. Enjoy!
On Zhang Ling He’s role as a SML in Cang Lan Jue: Watching CH and XLH loving each other then CH losing XLH a little every episode break me. It’s like watching Ye Hua losing Bai Qian slowly to another man regardless of him always loves her, suffer in mortal and fairy realms for her and have a marriage agreement with her.
It didn’t help that CH (Zhang Linghe) is smoking hot. I am glad Xiao Run doesn’t have an attractive character like CH or I could have died watching XLH rejecting him.

What a wasted opportunity to turn the show to the better by having a good surprise at the end. Imagine: The one who showed up in the last scene as the House Master of Sunset Drizzle and united all of Jianghu (including 6.5 hall) turned out to be DFJ. He never died, WXS faked his grave to save him from his enemies.
Of course it was not what happened. What a lost opportunity though!

I normally pay a lot of attention to kissing scenes in a series and SZer(FL) seems to be a lot more attracted to her ML in other series than in this one. This is the first series with her as a FL that she keeps her lips shut while kissing. Just an observation, still decent chemistry overall.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first half of the series, a magical and well done piece with both good romance and good comedy.
The second half is questionable imho, the genre switched to a messy crime thriller style with little logic. I wished they stayed with the first half lightheartedness.
Chemistry is good but could be better….Spoiler in comment
Alternative ending: - YWY was just a pawn under the Imperial Crown Prince (now Emperor), so he could paint all days while YWY plotted against the world for him. The prize was the lift of the blood curse. - As HC troops were losing against the Imperial army, the Emperor agreed to cure YWY blood curse by taking out the real Imperial Token. Turned out, the curse can only be cured using the Emperor's own blood, and YWY must be in a metal cage under the token to cure the curse. - Emperor put YWY in the cage but never used his blood to lift the curse, so YWY used tactics to let HC and others know where he was and that the Emperor was the ultimate boss. - HC came to YWY rescue but was captured in the cage himself. FLX and FXY intercepted the whereabout of the Emperor and beat the living sh*t out of him. He admitted to manipulating YWY but he wasn't the one who killed everyone and do all the dirty work. He gave FLX and FXY the decree to become the next emperor in exchange to letting him live. - FLX and FXY rescued HC and threw the Emperor into the same cage as YWY. YWY used some of his blood to lift the curse. They now live for the rest of their lives in the metal cage, 30 or 40 years. - FLX and FXY decided to give the burden of becoming the next Emperor to HC, who spent the rest of his life in a cage called the Imperial Palace, slightly bigger than the metal cage YWY and the previous emperor were living. At least he now learned that ruling the world is not that great. - FLX and FXY then rebranded Fountain Abode into a pharmacy chain that used Puer's family medicine handbook to save thousands of people a year. They then travelled the world and discovered a medicine combination to improve life expectancy for FLX. They live happily ever after.
Best ending in my humble opinion. If I were to live for 10 more years I'd prefer travelling the world with my beauty and soul mate compared to working 16 hours a day as an emperor while my wives stage to kill each other.
The only complaint about the ending is how YWY chose to fight 3 of the world strongest fighters all at once. He's a smart guy, should have prepared some traps for the lot.
I am suspecting the final villain might not be YWY but the Imperial Crown Prince who was behind it all and forced YWY to do all that to exchange for the curse lift. Just a thought, not sure if true, I marked as a potential spoiler anyway.
People who are saying FLX is a"too good guy" character in front of Yong King, have you skipped some parts of the…
Not talking about Yang Yang's expressions or if he has or has not delivered the role. Just in ep 33, he was sad for a whole scene wondering "What if my father knows about this? Then what do I do???". In ep 34, when FJ accused FLX of suspecting Yong King, FLX lied through his teeth and said he never did, on top of all the "right thing to say" for his main audience (Yong King and the ministers). He was cunning as f***, and a shameless liar. He chose not to kill Baili and berate Yong King because he'd rather let other people do the dirty job for him (King killed queen, FJ threw insults at the king). This is totally true to his style since the beginning when he chose to sit out and observe the Empyrean Token fight, only to intervene at a key moment.

Or how CH falls in love with DY while training her to be the next God of War, something full of action and hot please :P
