Actually some of us had a problem with Song Zuer due to lack of micro expression. But believe me that the plot as it moves on makes you to ignore it.

Ikr , he was the hot ass character in s1. I really didn't watch it because I knew how he'd end up. I can't bear to watch it. Tan jianci never failed to give me goosebumps in historical series. (Btw what is OP?)

My view on this, I had the same doubt but while pondering, It may be like this. ZBW coveted the power of the seal from the beginning, So he wanted the power for himself, so he wanted to eliminate the rest two {considering he is too cruel and don't respect bond} who wanted to share this. He himself can not do this so he groomed Zang Hai to do it in the name of revenge. They would have proceeded like they didn't know the third enemy because they don't want ZH to get clue, and they wanted ZH himself to find all the enemy one by one so that he'd get more insight about the Gui seal and retrieve it from the person who had this. If ZH knew the 3rd enemy he'd never retrieve the Gui seal because if he kill the 3rd enemy, the revenge is complete. So all the fuss.
But the masters can't bear what's gonna happen to ZH so one died earlier and other died after settling ZH by knowingly drinking the tea. It was their retribution

Actually the painting which was in antu's room already planted a doubt in mr.eight's mind. And when Antu told the story she confirmed that. Also since she was a story teller in zhen tower about the court room and royal family, she obviously know everything that's going on btw ZH and the court etc.. So she believed Antu. Also eight spend most of the time with antu and she knew that Antu would never lie about her. So many things like this are left in this drama to be interpreted ourselves based on what happened. One such thing is this.

Yeh kinda, evil but in the last eps she had a redemption. She did betray FL when she removed her princess status.

I also love ML's being a martial artist in revenge, but as far as this plot is concerned,
If ML was a martial artist, it'd have been tough to infiltrate Astronomical bureau, and all the way to the cabinet, which is imperative to find his 3 enemies. I felt that if ZH should atleast learn to protect himself at crucial times but that hole was filled by Shilei, Antu who tagged ZH to protect him. So there was no need for ZH to learn MA and the story was also not for Martial arts.
May be like May be ZBW knew all this hence he never turned him into a martial artist by saying his body wasn't suited.

He did that to prove the imperial soldiers that he was against his father's brawl. It was the only way to prove. So that in future he'd salvage zhuang family. If he take his father's side Zhuang family is done for good.

Absolutely💯. I also expected that ZH would realise that he has been their pawn atleast in the middle of the drama but he totally believed people. Eg. Shi quan, masked man, ZZX etc .
