This is something i thought about very long time ago. You can't blame these broadcasting companies because this is how the Chinese viewers are like. I've been into Kdrama for over a decade now dramas with big stars will flop if the public didn't like it while a drama with 0 stars in its cast will manage to get the highest rating if the public liked it. Not to mention how idols will struggle to get recognitiojn as an actors and their dramas usualy flops even though they belong to the biggest group there while in chaina the top popular actors who will never get a flop drama are idols no matter how terrible their dramas are. add to that all the BL crap, Make a medicore drama with two hot guys bromancing and it will be hit. This is actually degrading the quality of Cdrama. An epic drama like Joy Of Life is being dragged by idols fans claiming it's only successful becaue they casted a popular idol/actor as a supporting character. This is really discourging for dramas makers who might want to produce a good drama just cast a popular star or make it BL and it'll be hit why even bother to write a good script and cast capable actors?!
