My only complaint about DOOM at YOUR SERVICE is that it is OVER. I know that a lot of mixed reviews are here and everyone takes from a show (which is art) anything and everything that their personal heart or experience can take from it. Me personally this show has made me cry from Eps 12 thru Eps 15. Seo In Guk's OST song last night - so beautiful - made me cry again.
This was one of my original reviews from first few eps. and the story has done exactly this for me:
💜The story I can already see having a GREAT and deeper thoughtful meaning. Maybe in what it truly is to LOVE because that comes with trust, unselfishness, regret, sacrifice, heartache, loyalty, loss. The cinematography - the stop holds - the colors. His house! The way he dresses! It all leads into this character that at first you think is a complete bas#@$d but I know he is going to draw you into loving him, he is hurting in some way just like her. I love him, I hate him, I love him, I hate him - What a Roller Coaster! The supernatural but cosmic almost religious intertwined with reality in the storyline is going to lend itself to a lot of twists and turns and I'm sure a thoughtful heartfelt meaning that the audience is going to take away for sometime. 💜
Their is an aspect of the show that teaches that Life is Worth Living! You have to LIVE not give up. Even though there is heartache and sadness and loss that you have to go through so many things in order to still have Your Happy Ending.
I am looking forward to seeing how everything wraps up - in what I think will be a beautiful ending.
EDIT: I LOVE LOVE LOVED this LOVE story and the 2nd LEAD LOVE STORY. Watch out at the end there is a message in the subtitles as the meteor goes across the sky!!!
My #1 drama has always been Goblin and it still is but I have to say the last few eps of DAYS starting at Eps 12 the writer actually has brought everything full circle with ALL of the relationships in the story, including the second main leads - all beautifully written, I think I have cried through most of 12, 13, and 14. The relationship and chemistry between DOOM and Tak Dong-Kyung is actually really beautiful and no matter how much you try to run away from LIFE - YOU HAVE to LIVE - I will revise this tomorrow when I can think more but I have found some beautiful meanings in the development and tenderness in the story especially in the last few moments. I can't wait to see how this ends......... (bravo to Seo In Guk and Park Bo Young)
I love this drama from DOOM to PBY to TEAM TEAM LEADER Cha & the writer! Makes me cry almost every episode! It has some beautiful meaning behind LOVE, LOSS, FAMILY, LIFE (LIVING), DEATH and how we face these things! If you have not started it, I recommend it! I love having a DATE with DOOM!
We are halfway through the episodes and honestly I couldnt cite any aspects of him being creepy. The only exemption…
So I thought of something - In that scene on the roof - the first kiss- she actually asked him to come over and he turned her down and then later showed up - so basically she gave him permission to come find her. So nope not creepy
I'm so EXCITED! New Eps! FINALLY! Aw, Renn (Hase) smiled throughout this whole episode and WOW - plot twists - but what LOVE and tenderness he keeps showing towards MoMo each episode. I just love this series
This - why - why am I so intrigued! I keep coming back. I don't like the silly special effect noises it takes away from the story. Finally the 2nd couple is getting together but the main couple is TAKING forever! But they are both so adorable! I really want to know more.....hopefully they will delve into the past of the CEO so that we can see why he is the way he is. And Hank Wang is ADORBS just saying.

I'm still confused by some people's comments that Hase is creepy... I'm wondering if we're watching the same show…
He is not at all! I find him to be gorgeous & soft and this is my first time watching Renn's work. When he smiles it melts my heart. I find him to be protective and loving. He also listens to MoMo. I think dramas are trying to get away from the Fluffy - dramas and into more REAL relationships and people don't like it. If you go over to the Nevertheless reviews the same thing is happening to Song Kang because of the way the show is being filmed. They all consider him toxic. Why is flirting toxic? Just because someone flirts and touches and kisses you early on it's somehow some kind of aggression. The characters in both of these shows are strong good looking men. I personally feel sorry for anyone trying to date if you have to have a "contract" before you are part of someone's personal space. These girls SEEK out the male lead. They are also strong woman - why make them less than. MoMo was very aggressive with Hase in the chocolate "kiss" good for her showing how invested she is in the relationship. Can't wait for the next episode and Hase (Renn) could be my boyfriend any day!

Could the possible toxic tag be for the original relationship with her professor.? This tag is also a MDL Tag - not from the actual drama premise itself. The synopsis says that he has a "magical" effect on her decision to stay aloof - as I said I will reserve judgement until more eps drop - and I totally get that my opinion isn't going to change others opinion and totally ok with that!

Not the way the premise is billed in the description but appreciate that everyone has different opinions and perspectives as is evident in all the different reviews here. I have not read the "webtoon." I am going by the premise and plot currently put forth: PJE is a happy-go-lucky and flirty person but never allows himself to develop feelings for others. Meanwhile, YNB, enjoys dating but after her bitter experience with her first love, she no longer trusts love and doesn't believe in destiny. (taken from google) No where do I see it tagged as "toxic." I see him as seductive and aloof. As more episodes drop, definitely will continue to keep an open mind - cuz it is a show of course. She might only be uncomfortable because of her past experiences. They may actual be showing that they develop a mature relationship out of their friendship - maybe the red flags she feels are from her past experience - just maybe it is her preconceptions that might harm her outlook on a new romance. Perhaps they both have something to learn.
I have noticed recently that a lot of dramas kdramas (jdramas have always been more mature, broody and dark) are breaking outside the box to show more mature relationships. Currently watching the Jdrama "Love Is Phantom" and it also has a REAL relationship instead of your typical kdrama "Let's wait until Eps 10 to have a press kiss." People in their 20s and 30s have REAL relationships and the camera work is very up close and personal in this drama. I understand that some feel he is TOXIC - As I have said before I do not. His character is supposed to be aloof and flirty, fun, and non-committal. The whole premise of the show is him-who does not believe in anything more than a casual relationship and her not wanting to think things are "fated" because she has been hurt. I think waiting for more episodes to drop might show us how the two actually transform outside of their current status. I don't think she is there to "fix" him - I think he might actually open himself up, cross over into something outside his normal standoffish relationships. Give it a chance. Or not or course......

The GLOW in the room? What is his secret? Could he actually be a phantom? I was leaning vampire but not so much anymore! What the heck is his secret??

I also loved the 2ndry couple - as through the relationships (the writer, café owner, and team leader) they also had lessons to learn about not running away and that choices have consequences. The friendship between the café owner and the team leader also had a deeper meaning and lessons to learn. Same as with DOOM and TDK - no matter how much you try to run away or change your FATE - the universe will bring it full circle. Of course there is so much more, It is one of those shows I just want to sit and discuss. It was like reading a good book slowly! Now I have to turn to the LAST page.
