In Deep Learning, there is a concept called reinforcement learning, and that’s essentially what’s happening in the second half of the movie. In reinforcement learning, we create an environment for the AI, define the actions it can take, and set a goal, along with penalties when things go wrong. The AI then keeps trying, learning from each outcome. Here is an example simulation video of AI trying to walk through reinforcement learning - https://youtu.be/L_4BPjLBF4E?si=TkgD1yY0kO5WboJB
In the first half (the real world), she fails to save the baby, who itself is an AI. After reaching space, she is told that she now needs to create an AI mother. So she sets up an experiment, an AI simulation where the environment is the same flood that happened in reality, and the main goal is to save the child, and also to save the kid on lift, and to punish the bad guys looting. The idea is that while trying to save the child, the AI might also learn human emotions like care, attachment, and responsibility, etc. Saving the child becomes the final objective of the simulation. Since the second half is simulation, we see the background scenes with black space and white/red dots.
In second half, After space scene, we see the scene where she wake up in bed again, but this time there’s a number like 491 on her white T-shirt, which represents the iteration count. Everything we see in the second half is actually an AI simulation running on the GPUs in space, not real world. The An-na we see is not the real person, but an AI version of her, loaded with her memories, going through repeated simulations ( iteration number is indicated by the number on her tshirt - 491, 7k, 9k, 13k, 21k, etc )
By the end, after more than 21,000 iterations, the AI finally succeeds to save the kid, experiment concludes. At that point, the An-na AI has effectively been created, and the child AI is also recreated.
And do u think, it's intentional, AI kid name: Ja-in -> J"AI"n 🧐
I really enjoyed the movie, and it was only because I'm a Data scientist, and I love watching movies about AI. But from the trailer, it gave impression that it is a disaster movie. So I understand why most people don't like it, they expect a disaster movie like sinkhole, but got an AI movie.
If u r confused after watching, I can give a short explanation on second half ( Reinforcement learning)...
There will most definitely be a Season 2. When Donghi finds out Taeyun is dead, that last photo will bring him…
If they make s2, then the KOPIKO WILL RETURN too. May be when everyone are disappointed of a killing or sthg, FL will distribute KOPIKO saying, take it this will energize you :)
And w got covered most of the cliches like White Truck, Amnesia, Alzheimer's, Annoying FL, Weird family connection between characters, etc. Any left over cliches will be kept in s2, may be parkinson's disease. And they will keep making stupid plans to kill ML, and he will survive everything. Then the End, by Kopiko.
Started good, but the last 2 Episodes became completely absurd. Especially, the reasons behind their actions doesn't make sense at all, a lot of their reasons. Felt like a wasted potential! Initially felt like grey characters, but by the end i couldn't help but see them as bad, and their reasons 😬 oh god 🤦🏻
Not a fan of Business dramas, just started it bcoz of lee je hoon. BUT, OMG!! I cannot believe this is a business drama, everything is so damn interesting, and that too without complicating the technicalities. In most business dramas they end up confusing us with the technical terms or with too many characters. But here it's all explained clearly, and also interesting every minute.
And additionally, it has this episodic vibe, where every two episodes focus on one arc. Totally loving it.
However, what makes them diffrent from each other is the FL has a sense of justice while the ML is selfish. From…
Sense of justice 🥲 Are you kidding?
And she could have dealt with the blackmailer in any other way, is killing the answer for blackmailing? Self defense triggered her actions to use murder ? 🥲 man, we cannot justify her killing, not selflessness, not self defense, not sense of justice, she is just a murderer who does anything to make things go her way.
Can someone list out all the major changes that have been made while adapting the webtoon?
You read the webtoon too? Don't you think, it should rather have been a series than movie 🤔 Because, there is a lot of story in webtoon already, so I am wondering why they choose it to be a movie than series!
He is there in most of my favourite dramas 😂 So, I am going through his dramas list, and I see that allmost all of his dramas are a good hit and are really good ones. It's as if luck follows him 🫣✨ And god, he just Nails any kind of role, just a Versatile Actor 🔥👏🏻
Just Wow, This is my go to webtoon, and I can definitely say they are doing complete justice to the webtoon, whether it be fight scenes, ost, or cast, everything suits so well 💯/10🔥
Only sad thing is they can't cover much of webtoon arcs with just 10 episodes, already hoping for a season 2 🫣
Study group is my all time favourite webtoon, and i even used to create short edits with it's screenshots and add music to view the fight scenes as a nice video. Finally, so glad to see this made as live action 🥹🔥

They have already showed her ep1, 2.
