I just watched it (thanks for telling me what episode specifically) and in my opinion that wasn't a side effect of his potential like Ohm's nosebleed when he uses his power because it only happened in the beginning when his gifted cells have just activated. They even had to get regular hospital check ups during that time and they all got headaches too....so i never considered that as a side effect of his potential it was more the fact that they were new and their cells had just been activated
