One reason I dont read novel while the said drama is airing is because theres a lot of expectations/changes and some tend to drop the dramas because of that. Its better to just separate the two even if theyre adapted and just enjoy the show. I read novels when the dramas are impossible to air (cough Eternal Faith, etc) or when I know its still far to air so that I can still enjoy the show without comparing the two. I hope you watch the show and not compare it, you can still ask something about the novel but pls dont compare or expect because thats a big reason why others drop dramas. Theres always changes because its like, anime-live action, novel- live drama, manhwa/manga-anime, there is always a change and cannot truly make a perfect scenario because its an adaptation and again, its how you act and portray the scripts or what you read. Its really true. That women are dangerous especially when it comes to pushing off their limits. I mean, men ( born villains) here commit crimes for their selfish desires, for power and for wealth. Which resulted of killing innocent and pure lives. Now, women (learnt villains) is the manifestation of revenge, hatred and avenging their families (victims of born villains). Now, women commit crimes to punish evil (born villains) by committing crimes that stemmed from their investigations alone yet doing the incorrect/unlawful way. Its sad because they have no one like Yan Chi or Shen Wan as allies or friends to receive help/justice which is why they did their OWN/KNOWN way of avenging their love ones. The lessons or morals in the story is way deeper than you can imagine. And gender is not above law. YET gender is also not below sins. Born evil/villains are AMBITIONS ARE WAY TO DESIRE. DESIRE IS THE WAY TO POWER. However, learnt evil/villains are A SOUL FOR A SOUL. AN EYE FOR AN EYE. BLOOD FOR BLOOD. Sigh

What I love about today's cdrama: they are getting bold. (Like: scripts, scenes, bed scenes, killings, etc.) And I am not even complaining, From THE PRISONER OF BEAUTY, LEGEND OF ZHANG HAI and CORONER's DIARY. Ive been watching cdrama since 2015. And boy ive come a long way, lol. The only changes are: Rush ending and too many open ending nowadays, lol. Thats why im becoming more choosy when it comes to cdramas now. But anyway, I love this. Hope it wont disappoint.

I love the pace of the story. Not too drag, not too fast. Remember, Yan Chi is not yet a minister of justice, he oversees local cases but not in terms of palace situation yet. So its also good for both of them (Shen Wan) as they are slowly taking things to unravel the past especially the case of Prince and Former Minister of Justice. So it will take time before they will go to Palace and of course, I am also hoping it will not become too dragging as to not rush the ending. I got high hopes for this drama. I genuinely like the story and their romance and of course, the cases. I got hook and also got me feeling like a detective. Lol

Is she really poor or just practicing so she cant be chosen? Does she really not know how to read and write? Im so curious. I might drop this if shes damsel in distress or dumbdumb
